Duggar Family Drama Boils Over on Amy Duggar King’s Instagram Amid Josh Duggar Trial
Duggar family followers have long suspected that the family is divided over Josh Duggar’s current legal troubles. Most assumed there is familial drama simmering just under the surface. However, followers didn’t expect the family drama to spill over onto social media. In an interesting turn of events, Amy Duggar King went toe-to-toe with Laura DeMasie, Jana Duggar’s best friend, on Instagram. The short exchange seems to prove, once and for all, that there is division in the family’s social circle.
Amy Duggar King is speaking out against her troubled cousin on social media
Amy Dugger King has had an opinion on her family for years. With Josh Duggar’s trial officially underway, she seems to be feeling a bit emboldened. King has taken to both Instagram and Twitter to discuss the trial, and she isn’t hiding her feelings.
In a series of tweets, King has acknowledged how difficult the criminal process has been as a family member. She’s also gone out of her way to ensure her followers know she wants justice to be served and that she’s holding the entire family accountable for their behavior. On Nov. 30, the day Josh Duggar’s trial began, King took to Twitter to share a bible verse about vengeance. A couple of days later, she returned to the platform to drag her cousin, Justin Duggar, 19, for smiling and giving cameras a thumbs-up as he left the courtroom.
She isn’t afraid to step up to family members and family friends who have negative thoughts about her desire to speak out, either. A little Instagram feud broke out over King’s willingness to talk about the goings-on inside her famous family.
A small social media feud appeared to break out on Instagram
King might feel comfortable speaking out against her cousin, but that doesn’t mean her family and their social circle are pleased with it. They are watching what she posts, at the very least. On Dec. 3, King posted about her family and happily answered questions on Instagram. One follower called King out for being “passive-aggressive,” and that’s when things got interesting.
Laura DeMasie, Jana Duggar’s best friend, replied to the comment criticizing Amy by simply stating, “Amen.” The comment didn’t go unnoticed. King responded to DeMasie, calling her out and informing her that she would continue to speak out against the IBLP. The Institute of Basic Life Principles is the ultra-conservative Christian ministry that the Duggar family attends. DeMasie is also a member. King returned to the comments to tell DeMasie to be careful who she “works” for. While DeMasie’s current employer is a bit of a mystery, King’s comment seems to refer to DeMasie’s history of working for the Duggar family.
