Duggar Family Friend Bobye Holt Comments Publicly on Josh Duggar: ‘I Am Praising God My Daughter Was Spared’
Duggar family followers who kept up with Josh Duggar’s trial are familiar with Bobye Holt. Holt was a friend of the family and knew Josh when he was much younger, as her daughter reportedly courted Josh for a short period of time. Bobye also gave a chilling testimony during the trial against Josh. More recently, she took to Facebook to comment about the oldest Duggar sibling. Here’s what she wrote.

Josh Duggar’s trial put the spotlight on Jim and Bobye Holt. So, who is Bobye Holt? She and Jim were extremely close with the Duggars, so much so that Bobye testified against Josh during the trial. The Sun reports Jim knew Jim Bob Duggar when he was just 11 years old, and they took part in Arkansas politics together. The Holts and the Duggar family also attended church together.
“We have been friends with the Duggars for 36 years,” Bobye explained during the trial. “Our children were best friends.”
Additionally, Bobye and Jim’s daughter reportedly courted Josh in 2002. “Our oldest was Josh’s girlfriend in November of 2002,” Bobye alleged. “It was formal. They were 14.” However, the families called off the courtship after Josh admitted to allegedly molesting young girls.

Since Josh Duggar’s trial, Bobye Holt’s commented publicly about him and the Duggar family. Recently, Daily Mail posted an article about Josh’s initial interrogation. The article was posted to Facebook, where Bobye commented on it.
After one Facebook user suggested “people are rejoicing” over Josh’s guilty verdict, Bobye commented that she’s sure others are rejoicing, but she’s not. She noted her “heart is absolutely broken” that the “baby boy” she knew and “helped raise” has “done these horrible, horrible crimes.”
“I am praising God my daughter was spared,” Bobye added, according to a Reddit screenshot of her comments. Prior to this comment, she also noted Josh could’ve been “the father” of her “grandbabies.”
“And just because someone calls a spade a spade doesn’t mean they are rejoicing,” Bobye added at the end of her comment.
Are Anna Duggar and Josh Duggar still married?
Bobye and Jim Holt’s daughter didn’t marry Josh Duggar — but Anna Duggar did. So, are Josh and Anna still married?
They are — and there are no current reports indicating they’ll separate. The Sun obtained call logs from The Sojo Files that show Anna and Josh frequently communicate while he’s in jail awaiting sentencing. Between Dec. 12, 2021, and Jan. 2, 2022, Anna called Josh nearly 40 times.
Another report from In Touch notes Anna has been spending more time with her family instead of the Duggar family.
“She does talk to Michelle and some of her sisters-in-law,” an insider told the publication. “She’s been spending more time with her family.”
