Duggar Followers Suspect Josh Duggar’s Wife, Anna, Isn’t Close to Any of the Other Duggar Women
Those who follow the Duggar family are very familiar with Josh Duggar. He’s the oldest of his 19 siblings — and while he used to be featured on TV along with the rest of his family, TLC no longer has him on the show after his many scandals. Back in 2015, reports came forward claiming Josh owned up to molesting his sisters in the early 2000s. And he’s also been caught on cheating websites which threatened his marriage to Anna Duggar.
Anna and Josh are still together, and they have six children. But some Duggar followers suspect Josh’s wrongdoings have put a rift between his sisters and Anna. Here’s what they’re saying.
Anna Duggar stayed with Josh Duggar through all of his controversies
Josh and Anna Duggar married back in 2008, and it certainly hasn’t been smooth sailing for their relationship. Back in 2015, reports came forth that showed Josh was accused of molesting five underage girls in the early 2000s. And two of the girls named were his sisters, Jill and Jessa.
Aside from this, Josh also put his marriage in jeopardy by having an account with the cheating website Ashley Madison. While Josh blamed his cheating ways on his pornography addiction, many still wondered if Anna would stay by his side. So far, she has — though she’s lightly touched on the past via Instagram.
“The joys we’ve experienced together have far surpassed the shadows of sorrow we’ve walked through,” Anna wrote on Instagram back in September 2019. “Through it all, God’s kindness and grace has sustained us.”
Some Duggar followers suspect some of Josh’s in-laws don’t associate with him
Jill and Jessa don’t appear to hold anything against Josh. And when the molestation news came to light, they didn’t want the press getting involved. Despite sweeping everything under the rug and never really referencing what occurred, many Duggar followers think there’s evidence that shows many of Josh’s sister’s husbands certainly don’t approve of him and want nothing to do with him.
Reddit users think Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, is definitely amongst the in-laws who don’t associate with Josh. Dillard’s spoken out against the Duggars many times, and there’s a clear rift between Jill and the rest of her family.
“Derick can’t conceal his repulsion when he’s near him,” a Reddit user commented.
Others on the thread believe Jessa Duggar’s husband, Ben Seewald, and Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband, Austin Forsyth, also hate Josh.
“Just knowing the kind of person Austin is, how can he not be filled w rage when he sees Josh?” another wrote.
Others think Anna isn’t close with any of the Duggar women
Anna attends plenty of Duggar family gatherings at Jim Bob and Michelle’s house. And she comments to her sisters-in-law via social media quite frequently. Despite it all, many think Anna’s not close with the other Duggar women — and, of course, it stems from Josh’s abuse and scandals thereafter.
A Reddit user asked others if they believe the Duggar women feel any resentment toward Anna for knowing about Josh’s wrongdoings and still standing by his side (and marrying him in the first place).
“My best guess is Anna isn’t particularly close to any of the Duggar girls, simply because there were 4 girls who grew up together, who weren’t in the same ‘season of life’ as Anna for quite a while after she joined the family,” one Reddit user wrote. “The Duggar boys have tended towards marrying younger girls, so between that and the birth order of the kids, I think Kendra and Lauren are closer to Joy’s age – again, makes it harder to have common ground.”
“Do I think any of them are close with her and particularly like her? No. Do they hate her? No. But they’re not interested in a close relationship with her,” another answered. “Sisters in law in that family definitely get different treatment than sisters so it’s not surprising.”
Even if Josh’s siblings aren’t close to Anna, it seems she’s still willing to try and stay involved with events and Instagram comments.
