Duggar News: Jessa Duggar Confirmed Jana Duggar Isn’t Engaged
The Duggar family is infamous for their many courtships, and now, Jana Duggar is making major Duggar news. The 31-year-old still lives with her parents, but it’s suspected she could be courting and is well on her way to engagement. So, could she be prepping to tie the knot? According to Jessa Duggar, that’s actually not the case.
Is Jana Duggar courting? Duggar family rumors are flying
The Duggar family has already had a number of courtships and weddings in 2021. Justin Duggar was the first to announce his quick courtship and engagement to Claire Spivey. Then, Jedidiah Duggar secretly married Katey Nakatsu in April 2021. Now, fans are wondering who’s next to announce they’re courting or possibly prepping for engagement.
It seems Jana’s on everyone’s radar. Jana is the oldest Duggar daughter, and because she’s unmarried, she still lives under Jim Bob and Michelle’s roof. She’s talked about how she longs to marry the right man, but she’s also willing to wait for the perfect guy. Now, fans suspect the wait might be over.
Duggar sleuths found plenty of evidence to suggest Jana is courting a man named Stephen Wissman. The two were spotted together around Christmas and again at Justin’s wedding. While the Duggars haven’t announced anything, they haven’t denied it, either.
As for who Stephen is, he’s a pilot from Nebraska who is also from a Christian fundamentalist family. He has 12 siblings — not too dissimilar from Jana.
Duggar news: Jessa Duggar dispelled engagement rumors
So, could Jana possibly be getting reading to announce an engagement? While the Duggar family and fans would love to hear the news, Jessa stepped in to dispel the rumors.
A Reddit user found an exchange between a few fans online.
“Congratulations to your sister Jana on her engagement,” the fan commented on Jessa’s Facebook post.
Other fans stepped in to ask for more reliable sources than fan sites online. Finally, another fan stepped in to state Jessa completely dispelled the rumor.
“Jessa literally just said it’s false,” another fan commented on the thread. “Stop spreading rumors.”
While it’s entirely possible Jana’s not yet engaged, it’s not unusual for the Duggars to hold back on the truth when they’re waiting to announce something major.
“Jessa has lied about being pregnant when she is, so I’m going to take this with a massive grain of salt,” a Reddit fan commented.
TLC did not return a request for comment about the potential engagement by the time of publication.
Are the Duggars still on TV? Will fans get to see Jana’s potential courtship?
So, will fans get to hear about this Duggar news on TLC’s Counting On? We’re not yet sure. The Duggar family had a Counting On special celebrating Easter and Kendra Duggar’s newborn, but the special didn’t verify or address any of the courtship questions. Not only that, but none of the Duggars did much promotion of the special.
If a new season of Counting On is slated to return to TLC, we’re guessing that season will address courtships. Aside from Jana, rumors also suggest Jeremiah, Jed’s twin, and James Duggar could also be courting. And if the rumors surrounding Jeremiah are true, he and Jana are courting siblings.
