It’s official: the first Duggar offspring to have twins is a twin himself. Duggar family followers have been waiting for years to see which of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s children would have twins of their own. More than 30 grandchildren later, and it happened.

Jedidiah Duggar, a twin himself, announced that he and his wife, Katey Nakatsu, will welcome twins early next year.

Jedidiah Duggar and Katey Nakatsu are about to be busier than ever. The Duggar couple took to YouTube to announce that they are expecting twin girls in early 2025. While twins will certainly be a handful for the couple, the duo are plenty experienced as parents already. Jedidiah and Katey, who married in 2021, welcomed their first son, Truett Oliver, in May 2022. A year later, their first daughter, Nora Kate, was born.

Jedidiah Duggar and Katey Nakatsu also shared the news that they are expecting via People. Jedidiah is especially excited to welcome twins to the family. He told the publication, “As a twin myself, I’m especially thrilled to welcome these double blessings into our family! The bond between twins is truly special, and I can’t wait to see them grow and experience life together.”

The twins’ early 2025 arrival will turn Jedidiah and Katey into parents of four children under 3. Jedidiah and Katey appear to be expanding their family quicker than any other Duggar family member. No additional pregnancy announcements have been made in recent months, and it seems Katey is the only publicly pregnant family member at the moment. That could change at any time, though.

Michelle Duggar gave birth to 19 children over more than two decades, but she didn’t have 19 pregnancies. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar welcomed two sets of twins along the way. Jana Duggar and John David Duggar were the first twins to arrive. They are the couple’s second and third children. Jana and John David were born in 1990.

Eight years after they welcomed Jana and John David, Jim Bob and Michelle learned they were expecting twins again. Jedidiah Duggar and Jeremiah Duggar were born in December 1998. They are fraternal twins.

Duggar Family Critics Think the Duggar Family’s Social Media Movements Point to Trouble

Despite Michelle Duggar giving birth to two sets of fraternal twins, none of her daughters have had twins yet. Jedidiah and Katey’s twins will be the first set of twin grandchildren, despite the family welcoming more than 30 grandchildren over the last decade.

Twins run in families, but the hereditary component is linked to the mother’s side. It is unclear if twins run in Katey’s family, but she is not a twin and does not appear to have twin siblings.
