Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Shares His Outrageous Cheat Meals From 5 Pints of Ice Cream to 18 Sushi Rolls
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the most famous people from the wrestling world. Not only that, but he’s also one of the few wrestlers to become a superstar outside of the ring. In both the wrestling and the showbiz world.
However, he’s relied on his impressive body to do wow the crowd. But he’s had to work hard for his body. Not only that, but he’s had to maintain a strict diet, too. Still, some days he gets to cheat, and when he does, he goes all out.
What Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson normally eats
As Johnson said on his Twitter, a diet that he did back in 2013 while he was preparing his body for the role of ‘Hercules’ included a massive seven meal diet plan. If you’re familiar with diet programs for bodybuilding, then his diet plan may not come as a surprise.
His meals are a balance of protein and carbs, with an attempt to minimize how much fat is in his food. For example, Johnson’s meal plan only includes white meat from fish and chicken. Additionally, while there are eggs in his meal plan, Johnson is only eating the egg whites. To balance out the protein, Johnson eats complex carbs such as rice, potatoes, as well as salads and oatmeal.
All said and done, it’s estimated that this diet plan that Johnson was doing in 2013 came in at almost 5,500 calories a day. This was just his normal diet, he’s not even cheating yet.
What Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson eats on cheat days
Johnson’s always been open about what he eats, and that’s part of the reason why he has so many fans. He’s not afraid to put himself out there on social media. He’s talked before about his crazy cheat day meals, and here are some of the latest cheat day meals that he’s eaten.
Most recently, Johnson had a late-night snack on his cheat day of two thick pieces of brioche French toast that had plenty of maple syrup, peanut butter, and jelly on it. And, of course, since it was his cheat day, he washed it down with some tequila. This was a popular meal choice for him as he’s had this combo several times already.
Some less recent examples of his cheat days, according to Us Magazine, included five pints of his very own flavor of Salt & Straw ice cream, a plate of milk chocolate and peanut butter chip cookie sandwiches with peanut butter smothered in between the cookies, a takeout order of at least seven containers of sushi, and a stack of chocolate chip banana pancakes with peanut butter and maple syrup on top.
In terms of the Hawaiian pizza debate, Johnson, who spent a few years in Hawaii when he was growing up, also enjoys eating Hawaiian pizza on his cheat days.
Train hard and treat yourself is his motto
One of the most common messages that Johnson says whenever he posts about his cheat day meal is to “treat yourself.” Of course, the other thing that Johnson posts about is the need to work hard for your goals.
Like anything in life, anyone’s diet is a balance. Johnson, when he’s not cheating, is eating very clean and healthy foods that are just good for his body. When he is cheating, he’s balancing that out with the unhealthy foods that he’s allowing himself to eat every now and again.
That’s ultimately the message that Johnson wants to send out with his cheat day posts. He wants everyone to work hard, but don’t work yourself to death. Take time to rest, relax, and enjoy what you’ve done. And for Johnson, that means eating a lot of delicious foods.
