Dancing with the Stars is set to return on Sept. 14 to ABC with new host Tyra Banks. Joining her for Season 29 is a fresh cast of professional dancers and celebrity partners. Among the things that fans can’t wait to see are this season’s pairings and how the show will handle COVID-19 restrictions.

There are plenty of rumors floating around about who’s in the lineup, and Skai Jackson may be one of the stars who will be stepping onto the dancefloor.

Season 29 of ‘DWTS’ is full of firsts

This season, not only is Banks the first solo host of the popular dance competition, but the ballroom is also welcoming its first Black pro female dancer.

Britt Stewart moved on from the DWTS troupe to pro, a move that some fans wanted for a while. Stewart has been on the show for years and toured with DWTS, and this opportunity will pair her as a lead dancer with a celebrity contestant.

The show is also adjusting its practices in light of COVID-19 and dancers will be quarantined during its airing. This too is a first, and one of the precautionary rules ABC has in place is to separate all the participants in quarantine — including the ones who are married to each other.

Why some think Skai Jackson is on ‘DWTS’

Skai Jackson is known for her Disney career but the 18-year-old is also an author and active YouTuber. It’s possible she’s adding DWTS dancer to her résumé based on a recent photo.

Just Jared reported Jackson was spotted outside a Los Angeles dance studio wearing a hoodie and face mask. They pointed out that Jackson was carrying the same Von Dutch handbag seen in the Instagram photo below.

Shortly after her arrival, reigning DWTS champ Alan Bersten was also seen at the studio and it’s believed he may be her partner. Previously, Just Jared reported that Gleb Savchenko and Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause were seen heading into the dance venue for practice. They’re rumored to be appearing together on the show too.

Celebrities who have been confirmed for DWTS include A.J. McLean, Ann Heche, Vernon Davis, Jesse Metcalfe, and former The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Other stars are rumored to be part of ‘DWTS’

Little by little, verified details about the upcoming crop of stars has been revealed. However, Jackson is only one of the rumored celebs expected to appear.

Others include Charlie Sheen, Christie Brinkley, and Carole Baskin of Tiger King fame. E! News reported Baskin is in talks to join the show and noted Dr. Anthony Fauci turned down an invitation.

ABC announced its season 29 dancers and in an unexpected twist, Artem Chigvintsev is returning after being let go at the end of season 28.

Stay tuned to find out who will tearing up the floor with your favorite pros. Viewers can watch the two-hour DWTS premiere on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. Episodes will also be available on Hulu.
