Eli Reveals a Secret and Drew Goes on His First Date Since His Divorce on ‘B Positive’
B Positive gave us a peek inside Drew and Eli’s romantic relationships. Things haven’t been easy for either of them. Here’s what happened last time on B Positive.

Drew meets someone new
While Drew (Thomas Middleditch) is in the hospital cafeteria, he stops to grab a can of ginger ale. However, a woman named Adriana also reaches for the can at the same time. Drew decides to give her the soda, and she asks him out on a date. One dilemma Drew faces is that he doesn’t know if he should tell Adriana he’s in dialysis. He doesn’t want to scare her away.
At one point during their date, Adriana asks Drew if he has any dark secrets, and he says he doesn’t. Later on, Drew and Adriana go back to his house. Before they become intimate, he tells her that he does have a secret. He then reveals that he’s in dialysis. Adriana seems OK with his revelation. She tells him he’s brave.
Drew wakes up feeling good but that feeling doesn’t last long. Unfortunately, Adriana texts him the following morning and says she doesn’t think they should see each other. Drew runs into Adriana when he goes back to the hospital for his appointment. He asks her what happened, and she tells him the real reason she decided not to go further is because she has cancer. She says dating someone with kidney failure would be too much for her to handle.
Drew tells Gina (Annaleigh Ashford) he’s disappointed because he wanted to see where things went. He didn’t mind if he lost her after a short time. “We had a real connection,” says Drew. “I’d rather spend a short time with someone special and risk losing her than to never know her at all.”
Gina asks if he told her that and he says he didn’t. Drew decides to talk to Adriana again and tell her how he feels. He shows up to her cancer treatment and reveals what’s on his mind. “I like you,” says Drew. “And I think you like me too. You have cancer, but we can’t let our illnesses define us.”
Drew goes on to quote what Adriana said about life. She told him to “Live every day like someday is today.” Drew tells her that giving him a chance would be an example of her quote. She agrees to give him a chance.
Eli shares a secret with Gina
Eli (Terrence Terrell) tries out for a sports anchor position with CBS 2. He’s excited about the interview, and he works with Gina to help him prepare. He thought everything went well, but he was wrong. His agent calls to let him know he didn’t get the job. Gina tries to comfort Eli, but he’s still very upset.
Eli then tells her why he really needs the job. He hasn’t told anyone, but he revealed that he’s broke. He spent most of his money when he was a professional football player. He bought a house for his mother. He also bought his brother a car and put him through college. Gina says it’s OK and that she doesn’t care about his money. Will Eli’s financial woes put a strain on the relationship?
