Elizabeth Debicki’s $2 Million Diamond ‘Swallow’ Necklace Is Jewelry Worthy of Princess Diana
Elegant, graceful, and unique — three words describe Elizabeth Debicki perfectly. The Crown star knows how to turn heads even when wearing the most classic designs. See the 33-year-old’s stunning BAFTA look featuring a $2 million necklace.
On May 12, the British Academy Television Awards (BAFTA) took place in London. Highlighting excellence in British television throughout 2023, the 2024 ceremony featured guests like Succession‘s Matthew Macfadyen and Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker. No British award ceremony would be without the cast of The Crown. Naturally, Elizabeth Debicki was in attendance.
The Australian actor received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress, but it went to Top Boy’s Jasmine Jobson. Although Debicki didn’t win her category, she won (in our hearts) for the most unique accessory. The 6-foot-3 Tenet star added a special necklace to her corseted Giorgio Armani Privé jumpsuit.
An incredible 19th-century diamond necklace accented Debicki’s midnight blue outfit. Designer Eliane Fattal suspended a diamond-encrusted swallow from a solid cuff-style necklace. She hung a 20-carat emerald cut diamond from its beak to create a breathtaking one-of-a-kind piece.
Reminiscent of Princess Diana‘s extraordinary heirloom jewelry, this necklace was profoundly significant to Debicki. “Swallows symbolize hope, freedom, and the promise of new beginnings — qualities that resonate with her bright future ahead,” explains Zack Stone of Steven Stone Jewellers. The director of the London-and Manchester-based diamond experts, Stone evaluates the necklace’s worth at approximately $2 million.
Debicki should be hopeful about her acting career. Although she didn’t win a BAFTA, she earned SAG, Golden Globe, and Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Since beginning her role as Princess Diana, Debicki starred in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Her next project takes her acting career for quite a turn. She will star in an upcoming slasher movie alongside Mia Goth. MaXXXine is the third installment in the X horror series.
