Elizabeth and Nathan Get Cozy in ‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 12 Premiere [PHOTOS]
Elizabeth and Nathan might not be married yet, but they’re very much in the honeymoon stage of their relationship. New photos from the When Calls the Heart Season 12 premiere show the couple getting cozy now that they’ve gone public with their romance.
Elizabeth and Nathan enjoy a romantic moment in the ‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 12 premiere
When Calls the Heart returns to Hallmark Channel for its 12th season on Jan. 5. Images from the season premiere tease the next phase of Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Nathan’s (Kevin McGarry) relationship, as the couple enjoys a sweet moment together on her front stoop. In another image, the schoolteacher and the Mountie embrace in the doorway to her home.
Krakow has teased a deepening relationship between Elizabeth and Nathan in the upcoming season of the period romance-drama.
“[W]e spend a lot more time together this season, and I think you get to see some real romantic moments between us, as well as some really heartfelt co-parenting in this blended family,” she told Swooon. “Those scenes are some of my favorites. They’re really special this season.”
Little Jack starts school and Nathan trains a new mountie in the season premiere
Of course, it’s not all Elizabth and Nathan in the When Calls the Heart Season 12 premiere. Elizabeth’s son Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich) hits a major milestone when he starts school, and she receives a sentimental surprise in honor of the occasion. Meanwhile, Nathan trains a new Mountie cadet and Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) make a major decision.
Hallmark’s description of the upcoming season promises plenty of heartfelt moments as well as a few dramatic twists for the residents of Hope Valley.
“In Season 12 of When Calls the Heart, love flourishes for schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton and Mountie Nathan Grant as they embrace the joy of new romance,” the synopsis reads. “Reporter Rosemary Coulter and retired Mountie Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) team up once again to investigate a train robbery, while Governor Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) and Mayor Lee Coulter quite literally find common ground. The community comes together to celebrate and support each other through a season of discovering passions, leaps of faith, and a whole lot of dancing.”
It all adds up to “a roller coaster of a season,” Krakow said.
“I can’t speak for every actor or every character on our show, but I can say that for my character, there has been so much variety: high highs, low lows, some real frisky fun, some comedy, and some serious drama,” she added. “That’s just scratching the surface. It’s going to be a huge season.”
When Calls the Heart Season 12 premieres Sunday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.
