Since the show’s debut on Sept. 8, 2003, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has featured countless celebrities and public figures as guests, hosts, and co-hosts. Since the toxic work environment allegations, DeGeneres might have a more challenging time securing guests on the show. However, she still would never allow this one public figure to be on her show.

Is ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ coming back?

Although there was talk that Ellen DeGeneres might leave her long-running daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show will return on Sept. 21, 2020. According to Deadline, the host will resume filming on the Warner Bros. lot with no audience due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The comedian promises to address all of the allegations of the toxic workplace environment when the show returns.

“I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio,” DeGeneres said in a statement. “And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it.”

The first week’s guest lineup includes Tiffany Haddish, Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin, and Chrissy Teigen. Additional guests throughout the first month include Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Adam Sandler, and Orlando Bloom.

Ellen Degeneres would never invite this one public figure to be on the show

In September of 2020, Ellen DeGeneres talked with Megyn Kelly about inviting President Donald Trump on her new show, Megyn Kelly Today. Kelly said she would “definitely” have the President on her show. However, DeGeneres felt differently.

“I just, you know, he is who he is, and he has enough attention, and he has his Twitter account, and he has ways to get his message across,” the host began. “There’s nothing that I am going to say to him that is going to change him, and I don’t want to give him a platform because it just validates him.”

DeGeneres added that she expected to get numerous tweets after making this statement.

“And for me to have someone on the show, I really, I have to at least admire them in some way,” she explained. “I can’t have someone who I feel is not only dangerous for the country and for me personally as a gay woman but to the world. He’s dividing all of us, and I think I don’t want him on the show.”

In the comments of the video, Degeneres received mixed feedback on her stance

“Very disappointed that instead of trying to bring peace, you continue with the Hate that the left started!” one Twitter user wrote. “You don’t have love for all!”

Some fans suggested that inviting President Trump on her show might be a way to discuss important issues. They told her to practice what she preaches about showing kindness to all.

“I respect your decision, but what if you could bring answers and peace by doing it?” one user tweeted. “Unite instead of divide? You might be surprised?”

While many fans reacted negatively, others agreed with what the host had to say.

“She was on point, completely accurate,” another fan replied.
