She can manipulate snow and ice, she can communicate with nature, and she can even bring a snowman to life. Elsa is one of the most powerful Disney characters, even rivaling some superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here’s what we know about the Queen of Arendelle from Disney’s award-winning animated films, Frozen and Frozen 2

Elsa is 1 of the few Disney princesses to have ‘superpowers’

Cinderella can talk to mice and Rapunzel has magic hair that glows when she sings. One of the most powerful Disney princesses, however, isn’t even a princess.

Fans first meet Elsa as she’s being crowned the Queen of Arendelle. She has a big secret, though, one that she’s even kept from her sister. The secret is that ever since she was born, she’s had the power to manipulate ice and snow.

Even though at first she doesn’t embrace who she is, these powers come in handy, especially with the second film, where Elsa and her sister traveled to an Enchanted Forest to save their kingdom.

Disney owns Marvel and Pixar

Elsa is not the only superhero created by Disney. This company is also behind superhero flicks like Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Incredibles 2. Like Frozone from Pixar’s The Incredibles, Elsa can make snow and ice from the molecules in the air.

Like Wanda from the Disney+ original series, WandaVision, Elsa can create new articles of clothing. Elsa also has the power to create life itself, as exemplified by the huggable snowman named Olaf.

In the second movie, this character discovered she’s also the bridge between humans and nature, a spirit herself, who saved her kingdom and righted the wrongs of the past. This puts Elsa in the same league as some of the most powerful Avengers.

Some even compared her to the X-Men mutant Bobby Drake, (also known as the Iceman.) Despite these powers and Disney’s relationship with Marvel, Elsa is not considered an Avenger. Not officially, anyway.

Will there ever be a Marvel and Disney crossover?

There has been some crossover regarding characters Disney owns, specifically in Ralph Breaks the Internet, where fans saw Star Wars characters and Disney princesses all spending time on the internet.

Another Disney princess can even be seen attending Elsa’s coronation in the original Frozen. That’s Rapunzel, who is the star of the animated film, Tangled. Elsa also appeared in live-action form for the ABC drama series, Once Upon a Time, as did other characters like Anna and Kristoff.

However, with Frozen 2, these characters made it clear that they’re done going on life-threatening adventures together. Elsa now resides in the Enchanted Forest, where she can be herself alongside the other spirits.

To watch movies like Frozen and Avengers: Endgame, fans can head to Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+.
