Emilio Estevez Got Another Woman Pregnant While He Was Engaged To Demi Moore
In the 1980s, Demi Moore and Emilio Estevez were in a romantic relationship. The two met on the set of St. Elmo’s Fire, and the Brat Pack actors instantly hit it off. Only six months into their relationship, Estevez got down on one knee and proposed to Moore. Yet as it turns out, they had to call it quits after Estevez got his ex-girlfriend pregnant while still engaged to Moore.
Demi Moore and Emilio Estevez got engaged soon after meeting
After meeting on the set of Joel Schumacher’s coming of age film, St. Elmo’s Fire, Estevez and Moore instantly hit it off. Although their characters don’t have any romantic involvement in the movie, off-screen was a whole different story.
The two would spend practically all of their time together, and they got along perfectly at first. In fact, things were going so well for the couple that they decided to spend the rest of their lives together.
“He had a quiet confidence, which was really attractive to me,” Moore writes of Estevez in her memoir, Inside Out. “He seemed so grounded- and he had a great sense of humor, too. I loved his looks: his sand-colored hair and piercing blue eyes, the lovely structure of his face, and his chiseled features.”
Yet slowly but surely, Moore began losing the trust she once had for Estevez.
Why did Demi Moore and Emilio Estevez break up?
As time passed, Estevez became less and less attentive with Moore. And eventually, he began to see other women while engaged to the Ghost star. “Emilio and I had just mailed out the invitations for our wedding when a friend told me she had seen him out with someone else in LA,” she writes. “He denied it, of course, but I was having a hard time trusting him: during a two-week breakup a month before, he’d slept with an ‘ex’ girlfriend, lied about it, and then been forced to tell me the truth when he found out she was pregnant.”
Understandably, Moore was furious with Estevez, yet she desperately wanted to make it work. So as a result, she began seeing a therapist to help her deal with her relationship issues.
Demi Moore’s therapist told her not to marry Emilio Estevez
Moore was shocked when her therapist urgently advised her not to go through with her wedding to Estevez.
She recalls the moment in her book, writing, “I remember the therapist saying to me after a few sessions, ‘Ordinarily I prefer for a patient to come to an understanding on her own. But I don’t have time to let that happen, so I just have to tell you: If you marry him the way things are right now, you’re going to ruin your life.’”
In an attempt to repair their relationship, Moore had Estevez join her at a therapy session. During the session, the therapist had Estevez come up with a list of his top priorities. “I was pretty low on the list,” writes Moore. “I postponed the wedding indefinitely.”
