Emma Roberts Wears $140K Diamond Ring to 1st Media Appearance Since Engagement to Cody John
Emma Roberts, the well-known actor and niece of Julia Roberts, recently got engaged to actor Cody John. The couple announced their engagement with a heartfelt post on social media. Roberts’ romance with John reportedly began in August 2022 when they were introduced by mutual friends. Both being actors, the We’re the Millers star and In the Dark actor have a lot in common. John and Roberts’ relationship quickly blossomed, with the pair often spotted together at Hollywood events and on casual outings. Both Roberts and John keep their relationship relatively private, sharing glimpses of their life together only occasionally on social media.
However, on July 16, Roberts took to social media. The 33-year-old captioned her single-image Instagram post, “Putting this here before my mom tells everyone.” In it, she is sitting in a grassy field alongside a river with her arm around John as they both smile ear to ear. Roberts’ engagement ring immediately drew fans’ attention. Although the American Horror Story star hasn’t released many details about the sparkler, we can surmise several things.
Zack Stone of UK jeweler Steven Stone estimates that the ring’s diamond is 3.5 carats. Set in a thick gold band, the solitaire round-cut diamond ring is a “timeless and popular choice … especially romantic for engagement rings, as their shape symbolizes eternal love.” Another note from the esteemed jeweler: “Emma has opted for a thick gold band, which is an unconventional choice since most people favor a thin band in order to accentuate the size of their diamond.”
So, just how much did John shell out for this beauty? Stone estimates that Roberts’ engagement ring is worth about $140,000. On July 23, the couple stepped out for the first time since their engagement. John and the Scream 4 actor attended the Summer Gala by Gala One in Saint-Tropez, France. Held at Golf Club Saint-Tropez, this festive gathering saw guests enjoying Clase Azul tequila and watching a sizzling performance by Kylie Minogue.
Cody John began his career by playing roles in independent films and TV series like Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Though he is not as widely recognized, he has steadily built a respectable career in the entertainment industry. His engagement to Roberts comes on the heels of her two recent, serious relationships. The Space Cadet star shares a son, Rhodes, with ex-partner Garrett Hedlund. Previously, she and her American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters were together off and on from 2012-19 with a broken engagement in the process.
