Fans of dramas can expect The Boys, Bridgerton, The Crown, The Handmaid’s Tale, Lovecraft Country, The Mandalorian, Pose, and This Is Us to receive Emmy nods for Outstanding Drama Series.
For Outstanding Comedy Series, Black-ish, Cobra Kai, Emily in Paris, Hacks, The Flight Attendant, The Kominsky Method, Pen15, and Ted Lasso are up for nomination.
Outstanding Competition Program nominees include The Amazing Race, Nailed It!, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Top Chef, and The Voice.
Outstanding Variety Talk Series nominees are Conan, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Finally, the nominees for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series are I May Destroy You, Mare of Easttown, The Queen’s Gambit, The Underground Railroad, and WandaVision.
When are the Emmy Awards in 2021?
Those hoping to catch the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards on television will have to tune in Sunday night, Sept. 19, 2021. So, what time do the Emmy Awards air? According to GoldDerby, the television event airs live on CBS at 8 p.m. EST. Cedric the Entertainer is hosting the event.
Those keeping up with the Emmy Awards 2021 know the primetime awards follow the Creative Arts Emmys. The Creative Arts Emmys were split into three ceremonies starting on Sept. 11, 2021. An edited version of the event is broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at 8 p.m. EST on FXX. This could be the perfect way to kick off Emmys weekend for fans.
All of the above nomination categories will air during the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards. The Creative Arts Emmys feature categories in production design, cinematography, and sound, the publication notes.
How can fans watch without cable?
In addition to the Emmy awards air date, fans need to know how to watch the event. IndieWire reports those without cable who can’t catch the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards live on CBS need not fear, as it’s also available to stream on Paramount+. The service offers free trials.
