‘Euphoria’: Angus Cloud Opens Up About Working With Maude Apatow in Season 2

Fezco and Lexi were at the epicenter of the Euphoria Season 2 premiere. The two connect at a New Year’s Eve party, an unexpected but delightful pairing to many Euphoria fans.
Frustrated by feeling second to her sexier, more popular sister Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), Lexi delights in Fezco’s interest in her. “Lexi,” he says in the episode. “I like that; that’s a nice name.”
For someone who feels like a secondary character in her own life, Lexi is perplexed when Fez called her “f****** fearless.” But just after the class drug dealer tells the straight-laced bookworm he hopes to see her again soon, everything changes. Lexi’s thoughts about their encounter quickly shift as she watches Fezco break Nate Jacobs’ (Jacob Elordi) jaw.
Angus Cloud feels ‘safe and comfortable’ around Maude Apatow
The scenes between Lexi and Fezco in the Euphoria Season 2 premiere showed fans a softer side to the jaded drug kingpin. As Cloud explained to Complex, sharing scenes with Apatow allowed him to showcase his character’s softer side.
“It was a blessing [to work with Apatow], man,” Cloud admitted to the outlet. “I love working with Maude — she’s the best. We always had a great time whenever we get to work together. She’s hilarious. She cracks me up.”
Cloud also said Apatow helped him lean into Fezco’s sensitive side. “Maude helps with that for sure,” said Cloud. “You gotta feel safe and comfortable to sort of open up. I always feel like that around her, so it’s not too difficult.”
‘Euphoria’ fans think Lexi and Fezco’s relationship will develop in season 2
Lexi may have witnessed Fezco’s brutally violent side, but some fans think the duo will end up exploring a romance in season 2 of Euphoria. “I’ve said it from the trailers … these [two] are gonna marry each other!” one fan said on Reddit. “All other relationships don’t matter to me now..these two are the love story!”
They continued, “He’s gonna have to explain why he did what he did, but I don’t think that will matter; she knows … Their relationship is going to grow [through] the season.” For this fan, seeing more from Lexi and Fez would showcase love, something they say Euphoria doesn’t do much.
‘Euphoria’ Season 2 theories about Lexi and Fezco
It’s unclear where the Lexi/Fezco relationship is going in Euphoria. But fans have some ideas.
“I’ve heard that Fez helps Lexi with the play,” said one Reddit user in the Euphoria thread. “I’ve also heard that Fez gets all dressed up to go see Lexi’s play but right before he is about to leave he gets raided by the FBI so he doesn’t make it.”
“Fez gets raided as he gets ready for Lexi’s play,” another Reddit user elaborates. “Apparently, we’ll be left on a cliffhanger of whether or not he’s alive but a few or say the 3rd season will show Fez in court.”
