Rue meets Elliot in the first episode of Euphoria Season 2 when she finds him doing drugs at a New Year’s Eve party. The pair get high together and the night ends with Rue going into cardiac arrest. Despite this, Rue and Elliot form an unhealthy friendship based on doing drugs together.
Initially, Rue tries to keep her friendship with Elliot a secret from Jules. However, after a bizarre scene where Jules interrogates Elliot, the group becomes a trio of friends. However, Jules is still unaware that Rue is not sober and is getting high behind her back. In episode 4, Elliot finally tells Jules the truth, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a dark ending to his story.

Euphoria fans know that the series began with Rue getting out of rehab after overdosing. She and Elliot are a bad influence on each other. Although Elliot brushed away the drugs she left him in episode 4, Elliot’s story could still have a dark ending.
Rue still has a suitcase full of drugs and this fan theory proposed by Turtle with an Appetite suggests that Elliot will die of an overdose before the series ends. The fan points out that Elliot is a likable character, which could make him a prime candidate for getting killed off in a show as dark as Euphoria.
The fan also points out the conversation where Rue tells Elliot that loss is a stronger feeling than love. This is also the conversation where Elliot suggests that their friendship is unhealthy. The conversation could definitely be foreshadowing for Elliot dying from doing drugs with Rue.

Dominic Fike plays Elliot in Euphoria. Fike is also a talented singer/songwriter. This might mean that Fike can only commit to one season of the HBO series. It would make sense to kill off Elliot if Fike won’t be available for future seasons. However, none of this is confirmed yet. It looks like Elliot is alive and well in the promo for episode 5. If he is killed off in Euphoria Season 2, it likely won’t be until the end of the season.
