‘Euphoria’: Javon Walton Talks Fez and Lexi’s ‘Cute’ Bond
Euphoria doesn’t have that much romance so some fans were happy to see Fezco (Angus Cloud) and Lexi (Maude Apatow) grow closer. Javon Walton, who played Ashtray, revealed how he feels about the new relationship.

Fez and Lexi started bonding on ‘Euphoria’
Fez and Lexi seem to be completely different. Lexi still attends high school and has no interest in drugs. Meanwhile, Fez is out of school and is a drug dealer.
But season 2 showed them hanging out at a party and getting along. After that, they met a few more times. They comfortably talk about life together, and although the scenes are cute, they haven’t done anything romantic besides holding hands.
The finale shows Fez preparing to go to Lexi’s play in a suit with roses and a card. But he got interrupted by Cherry’s boyfriend trying to catch him, saying he was involved with a murder on a wire. Ashtray killed him to protect them but was then murdered in a shoot-out with the police.
How Javon Walton feels about Fez and Lexi’s new friendship
The people closest to Fez in season 1 were Ashtray and Rue (Zendaya). But his circle grew a little bit bigger with his new friendship with Lexi. Walton weighed in on this change with Entertainment Tonight.
“It was a really cute relationship and I hope they go far in season 3. I thought it was a really good bond,” Walton said. The actor also said the story “added an extra layer to [Angus’] character.”
Sadly, Walton won’t be there to witness it himself. Season 2 ended with Ashtray fatally shot. But the young actor talked about enjoying the time he had with Cloud. “We had a ton of fun,” Walton said. “We had a really good chemistry. So it was easy to build that Ashtray and Fez chemistry because we were doing that so well off camera.”
Maude Apatow wants Fexi to continue next season
Walton isn’t the only cast member who wants to see more of the unexpected pair together. Apatow talked about seeing them together next season.
“Oh, totally,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Yeah, I mean, I don’t wanna spoil anything, but I think it is just very refreshing when the relationship feels so like innocent and sweet, like in the last episode they don’t even kiss. They just hold hands, and it’s building really slowly. And I think in contrast to a lot of the things that happen on the show that are so extreme, it definitely stands out.”
Fez will certainly need someone to lean on next season after what happened to Ashtray. Hopefully, that means he’ll grow closer to Lexi.
