‘Euphoria’: Maude Apatow Answers if There Will Be More ‘Fexi’ in Season 3
Euphoria fans have been excited about Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Fez’s (Angus Cloud) new friendship. But it’s unclear where it’s heading, or how long it’ll last. Apatow answered if fans will see more of them together next season.
Lexi and Fez became closer
In season 1, Lexi was focused on her sister, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), and her best friend Rue (Zendaya). Fez also focused on selling drugs but tried to look out for Rue.
So it’s not surprising that their paths crossed again in season 2. The premiere showed Lexi and Fez talking at a party. It looked like they were hitting it off, and fans wondered if they would start dating.
They have continued to hang out, and the episode “The Theater and It’s Double” showed Fez supporting Lexi as she produces her play. The season is almost over, and fans might be wondering what’s next for the characters.
Maude Apatow answers if there will be more ‘Fexi’ in ‘Euphoria’ Season 3
Apatow talked about her character’s potential love story and if there will be more of it next season. “Oh, totally,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Yeah, I mean, I don’t wanna spoil anything, but I think it is just very refreshing when the relationship feels so like innocent and sweet, like in the last episode they don’t even kiss. They just hold hands, and it’s building really slowly. And I think in contrast to a lot of the things that happen on the show that are so extreme, it definitely stands out.”
She then talked about how much she loves working with Cloud. “But I love working with Angus. I think Angus is such a great actor, and we just have so much fun working together. So for selfish reasons, I hope we get to do more scenes together because it’s fun. He’s just a great partner.”
It sounds like there is hope for Fexi fans. But they have to wait to see where season 2 leaves off Lexi and Fez.
Apatow helped create Lexi’s story
Creator Sam Levinson writes the episodes of the show. But he also collaborates with the stars to create their stories.
Apatow revealed that he told her Lexi would be in the background of season 1, but will have a bigger story in season 2. “I thought it totally made sense for Lexi to be a theater kid,” she said. “I was in real life, and the play is loosely inspired by my senior year of high school. We had a student-produced, directed, and written show, and I was the producer, and I was like a tyrant. Yeah, so it’s loosely based on a true event.”
It sounds like Apatow has some influence over her character. Fans will have to wait to see if what she says about next season will be true.
