‘Euphoria’ Season 2 Finale Preview: Release Date, Time, Title, and Everything Else You Need to Know
Euphoria fans finally got to see Lexi’s plays come to fruition in season 2 episode 7. It’s hard to believe that the season finale airs this week. Fans have a lot of questions that need answers, and the promo for the finale is making many people nervous. Things aren’t looking good for Fezco and Ashtray and drama appears to erupt at the end of Lexi’s play. Here’s everything you need to know about the season 2 finale.
What happened in ‘Euphoria’ Season 2 Episode 7?
In Euphoria Season 2 Episode 7, Lexi finally debuted her play. The show was a mirror of Lexi’s life — her friendship with Rue, feelings of inferiority toward her older sister, and so on. Although they were watching themselves depicted onstage, Rue, Maddy, Jules, and Suze were all pretty delighted by the play.
On the other hand, Cassie and Nate both stormed out of the theater. Nate was especially upset after the infamous “gym scene” and he ended up kicking Cassie out of his house.
Meanwhile, Fezco had every intention of watching Lexi’s play. He puts on a suit and picks up a bouquet of roses, but something prevents him from making the show. Custer shows up at Fez’s house and viewers know he plans to turn on Ash and Fez for killing Mouse. However, episode 7 hasn’t yet revealed what goes down between Fez, Ashtray, Faye, and Custer.
What is the ‘Euphoria’ Season 2 finale about?
Euphoria Season 2 Episode 8 is titled “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name.” The title is a quote from Hunter S. Thompson in his book Hell’s Angels: A Strange and Terrible Saga, according to quotecatalog.com. The promo video shows the aftermath of Lexi’s play, and things are about to get ugly.
Cassie storms into the theater while the crowd chants Lexi’s name. She can be seen screaming and fighting with Maddy, but fans on Reddit have theorized that Maddy wasn’t her original target.
“It honestly looks like she’s [Maddy] actually stopping her [Cassie] from fighting her sister. Also alludes to them having some sort of bathroom convo at the end in the bathroom.” So, perhaps Maddy intervenes to stop Cassie from hurting Lexi. This could logically lead to the clip of Maddy chasing Cassie down the school hallway.
This scene cuts between images of Fezco screaming on the floor and outside a closed door. Police can be seen storming into a home and Faye drops and shatters a glass. Fans have some pretty dark theories about what this means, and sadly they seem quite plausible.
“Sadly, I think Ashtray will make an exit this episode, but Fez would scream like that if someone hurt/killed his grandma as well.” Many fans believe that Ashtray will be killed by the SWAT team busting into Fezco’s house, perhaps after he first kills Custer. Some believe that Faye or even Fezco’s grandma will meet their end.
Release date and where to watch the finale
According to Decider, the Euphoria Season 2 finale will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, Feb. 20 at 9 p.m. ET. Although things look bleak for a lot of the Euphoria characters, Zendaya teased a better ending for her character Rue Bennett in an interview with The Cut. “Episode 8 is where we’ll get that sense of redemption, that you aren’t the worst thing you’ve ever done in your life,” she told the outlet. Don’t miss the explosive finale.
