Euphoria Season 2 has been a wild ride so far, to say the least. Episode 5 showed Rue on the run, destroying anything and everything she came into contact with, including some of her friends’ relationships. 

When she stopped by Cassie and Lexi’s house, she dropped the bomb that Cassie and Nate were hooking up behind Maddy’s back. Everyone expected episode 6 to feature Maddy’s revenge on Cassie and Nate. Instead, audiences learned about Samantha’s secret video setup to record Maddy when she babysits for Samantha.

Fans noticed a camera hidden in Samantha’s house when Maddy tried on Samantha’s clothes in ‘Euphoria’

Before Euphoria Season 2 Episode 6, fans learned that Maddy (Alexa Demie) often liked trying on Samantha’s (Minka Kelly) clothes when she babysat for her and her husband. The way Maddy hurriedly changed out of the clothes when she knew Samantha was almost home implied it’s not something she’s allowed to do. However, it doesn’t appear that Maddy ever steals anything from the home.

In Euphoria Episode 6, Maddy once again played dress-up with Samantha’s clothes and jewelry. Fans noticed a digital clock with a red blinking light. Viewers quickly deduced that Samantha or her husband set the camera up to film Maddy while she babysat. 

Plus, in a later scene, a sign hung on Maddy’s room wall that read, “Smile! You’re on camera.” This led some fans to think of this as another ominous hint at things to come in Maddy and Samantha’s relationship.

The two women got oddly personal during a late-night swim after Samantha arrived home

After the quick shot of the camera in Euphoria Season 2 Episode 6, Samantha arrived home. She invited Maddy to enjoy a glass of wine and a late-night swim. Maddy took her up on the offer, and the two sat in the pool, discussing Maddy’s relationships with Nate and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney). Maddy told her about Cassie sleeping with Nate, and Samantha admitted doing the same when she was younger. 

The conversation alone seemed normal enough, but Samantha’s body language made some viewers think Samantha was flirting with Maddy. One Redditor wrote, “Honestly got vibes that woman wants to seduce Maddy, it being Euphoria, i wouldn’t be entirely shocked.”

Another user equated it to Samantha potentially exhibiting predatory behavior similar to Cal. “It’s like this woman is a female version of Cal or something. I definitely feel like the slow build up will lead to something.”

A third person had similar thoughts. “I didn’t even notice the camera in the clock, and I was still getting ‘There is definitely something more going on her'” vibes during the whole pool scene. My brain was going to similar places — at minimum, it felt manipulative, but with this new evidence in my lap, I think it was full-on grooming/predation. I’ll have to go and rewatch some previous episodes, but, yes, between that hand rub and other off-color comments, she always weirded me out.”

Only two episodes remain in ‘Euphoria’ Season 2

With only two episodes left to air in Euphoria Season 2, fans are bracing themselves for what’s in store for the characters in the show. Episode 6 featured Nate (Jacob Elordi) holding Maddy up at gunpoint in her bedroom. Plus, viewers doubt the season will end without a huge confrontation between Cassie and Maddy. Basically, every character’s situation seems to be coming to a head, and the outcomes don’t look good.
