Evangeline Lilly Teases ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Is the ‘Best One We’ve Done Yet’
There is tons of excitement surrounding the upcoming Marvel movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The film is expected to be a game-changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And according to star Evangeline Lilly, it may just be the best Ant-Man movie yet.
Evangeline Lilly plays Hope van Dyne, aka The Wasp in the MCU
Lilly made her MCU debut in the 2015 film, Ant-Man. She portrays Hope van Dyne — the daughter of physicist Hank Pym and original Wasp Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). In 2018, she reprised the role for Ant-Man and the Wasp and was introduced as the Marvel superhero, The Wasp.
The 42-year old Canadian actor reappeared as Hope, aka The Wasp, in the 2019 blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame. Lilly recently voiced a variant of the character in the Disney+ animated series What If…?. And in an October 2021 interview, she confirmed that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently filming.
“I can tease that I am currently filming Quantumania,” Lilly revealed to Collider. “And I can tease nothing else for you, lest I die.”
Evangeline Lilly suggests ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is the best one
As expected, Lilly didn’t give away any details about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. But she did tell Collider that she was thrilled after reading Jeff Loveness’ script.
“Jeff Loveness is our new writer for the film, and we’ve never worked with him before,” Lilly told Collider. “I think he is phenomenal, I think he’s one of the best writers we’ve ever had. I think he’s got an incredible mastery of voice.”
The actor said Loveness’ writing allows for more character depth and insight. And she suggested his script could make this one of the best Ant-Man movies yet.
“On the page, I could hear all the characters, and I knew that he’d really kind of harnessed each person’s unique personality,” Lilly said. “I just think that it’s going to be really special, I think it’s going to be really good. I actually think it has the chance to be the best one we’ve done yet.”
What is the ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ release date?
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was confirmed in late 2019 and went into its pre-production phase in April 2020. The project started filming in Turkey in February 2021. And production is expected to continue into early 2022.
As of now, Marvel is giving Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania a release date of Feb. 17, 2023. The studio has not revealed if or when the movie will premiere on Disney+.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will see the return of Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne. Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer reprise their roles as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne.
Kathryn Newton replaces Emma Fuhrmann as Scott’s daughter, Cassie Lang. And Jonathan Majors will appear as Kang the Conqueror, the Marvel villain he recently portrayed in Loki.
