Expert Says Kate Middleton ‘Believes She Has Earned Her Place’ and Is ‘Empowered and Dominant’ Like Another Royal Family Member
Since having abdominal surgery earlier this year and revealing her cancer diagnosis in March, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) has remained out of the spotlight as she continues her recovery. Fans are looking forward to seeing Kate when she returns to her duties as Prince William‘s wife is one of the most popular royals and her presence is missed.
Now, a body language expert is explaining that over the years the princess has become confident and reminds many people of another royal family member who also has a powerful and strong presence.
The royal Kate is similar to as she has become ’empowered and dominant’
Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.”
Stanton recently discussed how Kate’s confidence whenever she’s out doing an engagement or meeting with members of the public is reminiscent of another royal who is “empowered and dominant.”
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, the expert shared: “Kate hasn’t always been super confident. When photographed during her early days with William, she didn’t come across as particularly strong and would often look nervous. During their engagement video, she was conscious of how she came across on camera. We saw Kate and William looking at each other quite a lot, which was to reassure each other and give each other support as they both felt discomfort.
“In recent years, Kate has found ways to make herself feel more confident and the ability to take control alone. She wears the color red to feel powerful and strong. It makes her feel good about herself, allowing her to take on anything she is faced with.”
Stanton added: “When we see her appear at premieres, anniversaries, and royal events, we see her glide along, which is a clear sign that Kate feels powerful and important. She believes she has earned her place. It’s very similar to the way Princess Anne portrays herself in public.
“There are a lot of similarities between them as they always maintain eye contact and display strong posture when on duty. The way they carry themselves through their external gestures and communication skills shows they feel empowered and dominant.”
Prince William has ‘developed another level of strength’ since marrying Kate
Stanton explained that Prince William’s confidence has actually grown quite a bit too since he and Kate have been married.
“William wasn’t confident at all when he was younger,” the body language guru recalled. “He would often follow the same techniques as Charles when feeling nervous or overwhelmed. He would touch his clothes and bite his lip a lot. His face will go quite red if he’s feeling uncomfortable. He will also place his hands in front of himself, which acts as a support mechanism.”
Stanton continued: “William’s confidence has since developed another level of strength. William now shows an enjoyment in connecting with people and opening up with the public. He can let go of his nerves and have fun, while still adhering to royal protocol.
“He now speaks with a lot of confidence too. He is in control and nerves barely get the better of him. His eye contact in recent years has become a lot more engaged and we often see that he pays more attention and is actively listening to people. We also see William lowering himself when speaking with people as a sign of respect and admiration to make people feel at ease and that people can approach him.”
