Family Member Finally Speaks Out on Prince William and Prince Harry’s Feud: ‘All That Really Matters’
Prince William and Prince Harry might have always been pretty different, but at the end of the day, they were two brothers who loved each other. Their atypical upbringing certainly brought them closer in their youth, but as they grew older, their differences ultimately drove them apart. However, there is some common ground the brothers will always have, and according to one family members, that’s “all that really matters” regarding the brothers’ relationship.
Princess Diana’s brother says William and Harry’s love for their mother is what ‘really matters’
Harry and William might not get along, but they share a mutual love and admiration for their late mother, Princess Diana, and all the work she did while she was a member of the royal family. Harry and William reconnected in 2021 to unveil a statue in honor of their late mom, and Harry appeared on video in March to celebrate that year’s Diana Award while William attended the event.
According to the brothers’ uncle, Charles Spencer (Diana’s brother), their feud doesn’t matter as long as the two men don’t forget to continue to honor their mother’s legacy. “They both recognize this is something of their mother’s, and they both support that, and that’s all that really matters in this situation,” Charles told ITV of the brothers’ relationship and their unwavering support for their mother.
Still, Charles did not dive in any deeper to the disagreements between the brothers. He has maintained a strong relationship on both sides and likely intends to keep it that way. Harry did not see his father or brother during his last UK trip, but he did stay at Charles Spencer’s home, called Althorp – and reportedly has received an invitation to spend Christmas at Althorp this year, too.
Prince William and Prince Harry have not tried to work through their issues
It seems that there are a number of family members who remain close to both William and Harry, and Princess Diana’s family members are just a few. Her sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, is another family member who has been spotted sharing fond moments with both William and Harry in recent years. And on the royal side, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have both remained close to their cousins despite the drama.
Harry and William have not done too much to work through their issues. William did recently wish Harry a happy birthday on social media, but it’s unclear at this point if it’s enough to move the needle. The last few times Harry has made trips to the UK, William has not seen him.
