Fans Can’t Ignore the Major Similarity in Britney Spears and Rihanna’s Pregnancies
Britney Spears and Rihanna are pregnant at the same time. Take a quick scroll through Twitter and you’ll be bombarded with variations of “nature is healing” tweets. But in addition to being pregnant, the singers have something else huge in common: they both haven’t released any music since the year 2016.

“Pregnant at the same time as Rihanna? The heavens are having a moment,” commented one Reddit user after Spears’ pregnancy announcement.
Two music icons are pregnant. And they both happen to have not released any music since the same year: 2016. Rihanna’s last album was “Anti,” which came out on Jan. 28, 2016 and features such songs as “Desperado,” “Love on the Brain,” and “Kiss It Better.”
Spears’ last album, “Glory,” came out August 26, 2016 and features “Slumber Party,” “What You Need,” and “Love Me Down.”
Rihanna fans have been relentlessly pestering the “Diamonds” singer for an album for five years now. Spears fans, though, have been more understanding. The “Toxic” singer has been dealing with a lot the last several years. Still, fans of both can’t help but hope for a post-pregnancy power album.
Rihanna’s pregnancy
Back in February, Rihanna announced that she was pregnant with partner ASAP Rocky. In her May Vogue cover, she said that she “always thought” she’d get married before having a baby. But she doesn’t care anymore.
“Who the f*** says it has to be that way? I’m certainly not gonna let that get in the way of me being a mom,” she said. “They’re going to teach me more than I could ever teach them. And I want them to go for it. I want to see who they are in the world, who they become. Because I’m just here to keep them on the rails — a passenger as much as the driver.”
The singer went on to say that she and Rocky weren’t exactly “planning” to start a family.
“But certainly not planning against it,” she said. “I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of s***. We just had fun. And then it was just there on the test.”
As soon as she realized she was pregnant, Rihanna told her partner.
“I called him inside and showed him,” she said. “Then I was in the doctor’s office the next morning and our journey began.”

On April 11, Spears posted to Instagram that she is pregnant.

If 2 are in there … I might just lose it 😬😬😬😬😬😬 … I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money 💴 shot of me 📸 like they unfortunately already have … it’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression … I have to say it is absolutely horrible 😔 … women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her … but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret 🤫 😬😬😬 … This time I will be doing yoga 🧘♀️ every day !!! Fans are ecstatic for the singer who previously said she’d been forced to have an intrauterine device (IUD) inserted as a means of birth control.
“I want to be able to get married and have a baby,” Spears said at the June 2021 hearing, as reported by Fox. “I was told right now in the conservatorship I am not able to get married or have a baby.”
