‘Flip or Flop’ host Christina Anstead often shares personal thoughts on social media
While Anstead is used to seeing her name in the headlines, she prefers to communicate directly with her fan base. When news broke of her split with Ant in September 2020, she later expressed her feelings on the tumultuous year in an Instagram post.
“2020 definitely is not at all what I imagined it to be – not even close,” Anstead posted on Instagram in November 2020. “I also think there are soooo many lessons in all of this madness. I’ve been finding time to get to know myself more in the quiet. It can be isolating but it’s also helped me begin to heal and get less uncomfortable in ‘the void.’”
Anstead’s top priority is her kids – Taylor and Brayden, whom she shares with her Flip or Flop co-star and ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and son Hudson from her marriage with Ant. Though co-parenting with two ex-husbands while maintaining a public persona is a challenge, Anstead opts for keeping a positive mindset.
“Sometimes our calling is bigger than our plan,” she wrote in another Instagram post. “I never thought I would have one divorce let alone two. I never thought I would have 2 baby daddies – but sometimes life throws us curve balls. Instead of getting stuck in these ‘setbacks’, I choose to look at these challenges as opportunities to grow.”

“My favorite poet @jmstormquotes wrote a poem for me at my request and I was going to post it – but decided to keep it for myself because it’s ‘sacred,'” she captioned the Feb. 3 post. “Here are a few of my favorites of his. I’ve been following him for 5 years and love his work!! Also his book, “In My Head” is amazing. If you’ve ever felt BIG feelings or been 💔 you’ll love his work.”
Anstead put up screenshots of several poems from Storm. The selections seemed to have the same pensive tone.
“She’s been through a lot, you know?” one poem read. “Life has taught her and she has learned to prepare for the worst. Just understand that about her. She needs your patience and if you don’t have it, then walk out of her life. Because you may be sunshine, but she is still ready for the storm.”
Another read: “Sometimes we cause our own pain. Unaware we have become stuck in a single chapter because we will not wrote off those that don’t belong in our story.”
