Fans React to Tati Westbrook’s Drama With Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star
More than a year after Tati Westbrook made amends with James Charles, she has found herself engulfed in yet another beauty community feud — this time with Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson. In a brand new YouTube video, the makeup guru accuses the fellow content creators of feeding her “poisonous lies” and instigating her falling out with Charles.

On June 30, Westbrook released an explosive video putting Dawson and Star on blast for feeding her “poisonous lies” about Charles back in 2019.
In the 43-minute video entitled “BREAKING MY SILENCE …,” the beauty guru went into detail about how Dawson and Star coerced her into filming her “Bye Sisters’ video, where she accused Charles of being unsupportive of her vitamin brand, Halo Beauty, and allegedly spreading lies about her.
According to Westbrook, Dawson and Star “were both bitterly jealous of James’s success” and wanted to marginalize him for their own personal gain.
“Back in 2019, Jeffree started talking a lot more crap about James Charles than usual. It seemed that doing so had become his biggest obsession,” the YouTuber told viewers. “It started with him telling me right before filming our collab together for James Charles’s channel that James Charles actually didn’t want me there, that he had wanted NikkieTutorials instead, but [Jeffree] said he’d had my back.”
After hearing Star go on about Charles, Westbrook claims he put her in touch with Dawson, who made even more “horrific” allegations about the young YouTuber.
“[Shane] and Jeffree fed me so much new information that I felt sick. Almost every day, there was more information and new allegations,” she said. “Eventually, I started believing what they were saying because they said they had evidence. It wasn’t enough for me to contact the authorities, it was enough to scare me.”
By the time she’d decided to film her “Bye Sisters” video, Westbrook says she was “beyond gaslit” by the YouTubers.
“I did not make my video because of vitamins. I made it as a result of all the poisonous lies that were fed to me by Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star,” she said.
Shane Dawson slammed Tati Westbrook’s accusations
Minutes after Westbrook shared her video, Dawson spoke out against the fellow YouTuber’s claims on Twitter, writing then quickly deleting, “THIS IS A F*CKING LIE AND I AM LOSING MY MIND.”
Following his tweet, Dawson took to Instagram to live-stream his reaction to Westbrook’s lengthy video. Not only did he call her “manipulative,” but the YouTuber also accused her of “fake crying” in her video.
“Oh my god, you are so manipulative,” he screams at the camera. “You’re fake crying – you are fake crying! You are fake crying, that is not real! Oh my god.”
Even Dawson’s fiancé, Ryland Adams, had a few things to say about Westbrook, calling her a “two-faced liar” on Twitter.
“Tati Westbrook – a masterclass in manipulation. Make no mistake. This 40 year old woman [chose] to post a video on her own accord. She riled up Shane before doing so to have one of the biggest creators backing her in the chance this all backfired,” he wrote. “Shane very well WOULD have posted a video exposing James had he felt so inclined. No receipts because she didn’t want to expose the countless times she told Shane that she was a big girl doing this ONLY for herself.”
Adams added, “Hope you enjoy those sold out vitamins that made you millions in minutes from shane’s support you two faced liar.”
Star has not yet addressed Westbrook’s accusations.
Fans have mixed reactions to this beauty community drama
Since Westbrook posted her video, fans have been sharing their unfiltered opinions about the whole situation on social media.
While some were quick to side with Westbrook’s claims and call out Dawson and Star, others believe that she isn’t the innocent one in all of this.
“You’re not beyonce sweetie, spill the tea. Stop playing the victim and man up a little. Show us evidence. This is taking way too long. My biggest question here is just how did they manipulate her if she was talking about experiences that she herself had with James,” one person tweeted.
“She is doing this just for her makeup and sales like what she did to James poor Shane why isn’t she canceled yet,” someone else wrote.
Though many are continuing to take sides in this scandal, a handful of people are sick of hearing about beauty community drama and believe that Westbrook, Dawson, and Star need to grow up.
“My face watching Tati deflect blame and take 0 responsibility for her actions for 40 minutes. All 3 of you need to act like fucking adults. You are all 30+ and acting like 14 year olds. [We’re] tired of hearing about this. People are dying. Get some perspective,” a Twitter user wrote.
