Fans Slam Kim Kardashian West’s Post For Rob’s Birthday: ‘Celebrate Him the Way He Is’
Rob Kardashian has flown under the radar for several years now. Though he was once an important part of the family’s reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, he has since disappeared from the spotlight and has only re-emerged a handful of times.
Kim Kardashian West recently posted old photos of Kardashian for his birthday, but fans didn’t have great things to say about her photo slideshow — rather, they felt like she was intentionally trying to hide how he looks now.
Rob Kardashian faded from the spotlight several years ago
When KUWTK first premiered, Kardashian was an essential part of the show. He is the only son in a sea of five daughters, and he quickly became a heartthrob on the show. Plus, he had a hilarious relationship with Kourtney Kardashian’s then-boyfriend, Scott Disick, which the show loved to highlight.
Somewhere down the line, though, Kardashian hit a rough patch. He started gaining a lot of weight and dated women who didn’t have the best reputations. He ended up getting engaged to Blac Chyna (they have since broken up), which caused tension in his family. And for the past few years, he’s taken a step back from the spotlight.
He seems to still have a strong relationship with his sisters
Although there was some tension in the family during his relationship with Chyna, Kardashian has ultimately remained very close with his sisters. Last year, his sister Khloé Kardashian said that he was focused on getting back in shape and becoming a better version of himself. His older sisters usually post photos of him for his birthday and do share pictures of him on social media occasionally. (Kardashian was kicked off Instagram a couple years back for posting inappropriate photos and videos of Chyna after the two were in a fight.
Fans were annoyed at Kardashian West’s birthday post for her brother
Kardashian’s sister, Kim Kardashian West, recently posted photos of her younger brother for his 33rd birthday — except the photos were actually from his 24th birthday trip to Las Vegas. Kardashian West said she remembers the trip “like it was yesterday” and even posted a photo that didn’t have her brother in it. Fans weren’t thrilled with her choice in photos because it seemed like she was trying to hide how Kardashian looks today — and trying to make the post about herself.
“How come y’all don’t post how he looks now,” one user questioned. “Why y’all always showing photos of him when he was skinny…. Celebrate him the way he is [today],” another user wrote. “Y’all always post the old school skinny Rob every bday,” another person commented. “Wish we could have recent pics,” someone else added.
Kardashian West’s photos likely did not have any malicious intent
Though fans felt Kardashian West was purposely not showing her brother today, her photos likely were not coming from a bad place. The sisters seem to still be very close with their brother, and it’s possible that he doesn’t want to be photographed these days. Kardashian West might have also just wanted to reminisce on the good times she had with him when they were younger. Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, did post more current photos of her son, and fans seemed to like those.
