If ‘Jersey Shore’ Gets a Reboot, Fans Want It to Be More Like ‘KUWTK’
After the turmoil that resulted from season 3 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, several of the roommates dropped out of the cast. Now, many fans are convinced the show is getting a reboot. While that has yet to be confirmed, some fans are hopeful that if Jersey Shore does get a refresh, it will be more like Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
Angelina is the only female roommate returning to ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’
At this point, it seems like Angelina Pivarnick is the sole female roommate returning for season 4. Going into season 3, fans were aware that it was Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s final season. Then, when the finale of season 3 aired, Jenni “JWoww” Farley said she was “way too ride or die” to continue doing the show without “Snooki.”
When season 4 was confirmed, Pivarnick — along with her male roommates — shared the news on social media. She captioned a since-deleted Instagram post with: “Ohhh I can’t wait for this #jerseyshore #honeyimhome @495productions we did it again. #thankful #surpriseb*tches #seeyasoon.” Deena Cortese had yet to speak out about whether or not she was returning. But, after stating she “[couldn’t] care less” if she ever saw Pivarnick again, her return to the reality series seems unlikely.
Some fans think MTV is looking for a new ‘Jersey Shore’ cast
After the success of season 1 of Double Shot at Love, MTV renewed Pauly DelVecchio and Vinny Guadagnino’s dating show — but with a twist. This time, they would be living with their exes from the first season, working and partying in Las Vegas. What’s more, they introduced three new men to the cast.
Everyone lives under the same roof and works for Drai’s Nightclub. Sound familiar? The show has a similar premise to the original Jersey Shore, where the roommates had to live together and work at Danny Merk’s Shore Store. Fans took notice of the similarities. “It kind of feels like I’m watching a season of Jersey Shore, but in Vegas,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “I don’t mind the girls now that they’re not competing for [Pauly and Vinny]. The guys kind of suck, though.”

While it’s unclear if MTV is trying to reboot Jersey Shore with a new cast, fans on Reddit had a few suggestions.
“Why can’t they make the show more like KUWTK?” they said on Reddit. “As in following them around day to day?” According to this fan, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola might be more inclined to participate, thanks to limited interaction with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. “We could have met [Sammi’s] new man and watched her wedding planning. I think it would be more authentic and interesting watching them all in their day to day lives and them interacting together for parties and gatherings and contractual agreements.”
Many fans agreed. “Yes, that would actually make way more sense and [be] better to watch!” one viewer added. “[Keeping Up with the Kardashians would] be a way WAY better format now the novelty of the reunion has worn off and the ‘vacation’ gimmick is stale AF, played out, and fake,” another said.
At this time, it’s unclear what MTV’s plans are for the future of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
