Can a down-home guy find love with a city girl? That’s the question that the reality dating series Farmer Wants a Wife asks. So far, two seasons of the popular franchise have aired on Fox in the U.S. (Dozens of versions of the show have aired around the world, producing more than 100  marriages.)

The second season of Farmer Wants a Wife wrapped up in May 2024, with three of the four farmers finding a special lady to invite back to their farm. Two of those couples are still together post-reunion. So, will another group of farmers take a chance at finding love on TV? Here’s what we know about Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3.

Fox has not confirmed ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ Season 3

Fox has not confirmed whether Farmer Wants a Wife is canceled or renewed. The show is not part of the network’s fall 2024 broadcast schedule, but that’s not surprising. Season 1 premiered in March 2023 and season 2 arrived in February 2024. If the show does return for season 3, it probably would not air before early 2025.

There are signs that another season of ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ is happening

While Fox hasn’t formally announced a third season of Farmer Wants a Wife, there are signs that the show will return. Ty Ferrell, who appeared in season 2 (and shocked viewers when he rejected both of his final two women), told KBSI news that season 3 was in the works.

Another promising indication that Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3 is coming to TV? Several calls have gone out on social media seeking people to apply to be on the show.

“We had a blast casting Season 2, and we are super excited to be casting again for the show this year!” read a recent update from the Farmer Wants a Wife casting Instagram account.

As with any reality show, finding the right mix of participants is key to its success. But selecting cast members for Farmer Wants a Wife is “challenging,” the show’s casting director Damon Collazo told 104.9 Max Country in a May 2024 interview (via YouTube).

“We don’t want people who just want to be on television,” he said. “We want people who authentically want to find love.”

Finding guys who are willing to participate is particularly tough, Collazo admitted, especially because the show films during the middle of harvest season. “A lot of guys have to decline because they don’t have the help,” he said. However, the show does what it can to support farmers who are a good fit.

If someone is interested in being on the show but a bit hesitant, Collazo urged them to take a risk and apply.

“If you’re interested and you want to be a part of Farmer Wants a Wife, we’d love to see those farmers out there apply,” he said. “Take a chance at love. See if we can help you. We really take a lot of pride in helping those farmers out there, those ranchers, those cowboys if you will, find love.”

Farmer Wants a Wife Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Hulu.
