Jason Momoa is the latest movie star to join the Fast and Furious franchise. Jason Momoa is playing the villain in ‘Fast and Furious 10’
It was announced a few months ago that Momoa would be playing the villain in the next entry within this franchise. F9 introduced John Cena as a new villain and now Momoa will be joining the ever-growing roster of Fast and Furious villains. The Aquaman actor seems like a perfect fit in this franchise and it will be interesting to see him in a more villainous role.
Momoa is joining a cast that includes Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, and Jordana Brewster. It’s unclear if all of them are coming back, but it’s most likely that they will since Fast and Furious 10 is being marketed as the finale. It was also recently announced that The Suicide Squad’s Daniela Melchior is joining the cast in an undisclosed role.
The ‘Aquaman’ star confirms a former villain is returning for ‘Fast and Furious 10’
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Michael Bay’s Ambulance, Momoa confirmed that Charlize Theron is returning for Fast and Furious 10. Theron was introduced as Cipher in The Fate of the Furious and came back once more in F9. Momoa told ET that he is excited to work with Theron, who will once again be plotting revenge against Diesel and the rest of the family.
“I get to shoot with some really cool people that I have never — I get to work with Charlize [Theron] first up, which I’m really excited about,” Momoa shared. “She’s amazing.”
Momoa also said that he is excited to start shooting the movie and to work with other members of the cast, including Diesel.
“Then I get to go to some cool places,” he continued. “Obviously work with the whole cast — most of the cast. I’m sure that’s why they hired me. But yeah, I’m excited I’m working with Vin. I’m excited I’m working with Charlize.”
Jason Momoa continues to stack up a large roster of upcoming movies
Momoa became a breakout star through his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. He then became a massive movie star as the leading man in DC’s Aquaman. He is reprising the role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which will debut in March 2023. The actor recently appeared in Dune and is starring in See on Apple TV+.
Some of his upcoming movies include a western titled The Last Manhunt and a family-fantasy film for Netflix called Slumberland. Momoa is also confirmed to be involved in a female-led reboot of Sylvester Stallone’s Cliffhanger.
Currently, Fast and Furious 10 is set to be released on May 19, 2023.
