First-Time Dad Robert Pattinson Melts Hearts Over Daughter — Everything the ‘Mickey 17’ Star Has Revealed About His Child
Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse have remained very private about their daughter since the English singer announced their pregnancy in November 2023 at a music festival. Their secrecy may have even amplified fans’ interest in the family of three. Since their child was born in March 2024, Waterhouse has shared glimpses of their parenting journey, but the couple has kept their daughter’s name to themselves.
Recently, Pattinson finally pulled back the curtain on some specific details about his firstborn as he promotes sci-fi comedy Mickey 17.

Pattinson stars in Mickey 17, a psychological sci-fi thriller about identity, survival, and the ethical implications of cloning. Pattinson portrays Mickey Barnes, a disposable worker who is repeatedly regenerated into a new body whenever he dies on the job. Based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7, Mickey 17 follows Pattinson’s character when one of his clones refuses to die.
Early reviews of the film, which premieres in the U.S. on March 7, are quite positive. Rotten Tomatoes‘ Christopher Campbell writes, “Critics say Mickey 17 doesn’t quite measure up to [director] Bong Joon Ho’s best work, but it’s a big, fun, crowd-pleasing spectacle led by pitch-perfect performances.” With Pattinson’s “hilarious” and “inspiring” performance, The Batman actor is experiencing a lot of face time with journalists.
During the London premiere of the sci-fi thriller, Pattinson spoke with Extra. Standing on the red carpet, he explained his propensity for changing diapers. The London native shared, “I’m an expert, like, the stealth nappy when the baby doesn’t even know they’ve had their nappy changed.” He laughed and added that his daughter’s been “the most incredible sleeper since birth” and that he hates “boasting about it.”
With his little one’s first birthday coming up in March, Pattinson added that he and Waterhouse still need to plan her party. “That is another thing I have to do,” he said as he looked a bit overwhelmed.

He also chatted briefly about fatherhood and his new scent obsession: the smell of babies. “I remember people used to be like, ‘Oh, don’t you like the smell of babies.’ But I thought they were just smelling the baby powder,” he explained. “But then I had a baby, and I was like, ‘My baby smells incredible.’ There’s something there; I can identify her. She doesn’t smell like other babies.”
Pattinson would star in a children’s movie someday
The closet Robert Pattinson has come to starring in a kids’ flick is the Twilight film franchise, which was marketed to teen girls and young women. These days, however, The Lighthouse actor hopes to do a movie specifically for children. Extra asked him, “We just want to know if you’re going to do any films, at some point, for the younger family to appreciate.” Without hesitation, Pattinson responded, “For sure. I’d love to. It’s like, I’m always kinda open to anything. Whatever takes my interest is always so shocking to me. I’m like, ‘We’ll just see what’s coming.'”
