‘Flipping Out’: Jeff Lewis Finally Apologizes to Jenni Pulos
Jeff Lewis is making amends in the new year. The Flipping Out star has apologized to his former co-star Jenni Pulos for the way their relationship ended, he revealed during his SiriusXM radio show Jeff Lewis Live on Jan. 13.
Lewis reached out to Pulos via text, he said. He’s hoping the message will be the first step in rebuilding their friendship. “I would love to sit down and talk with her,” he said, according to People.
Jeff Lewis fired Jenni Pulos in 2018
Beginning in 2007, Lewis and Pulos co-starred on his Bravo reality show Flipping Out. But over time, the relationship between the house flipper and his project manager deteriorated. Pulos said she’d put her acting aspirations on hold in order to work with Lewis. He disagreed that he was holding her back from achieving her other goals. Things came to a head during season 11, when Lewis fired Pulos.
“I have to think about what I want for my business … Like, my employees need to be in line with me, really. Their dreams, their goals, need to be in line with my dreams and my goals,” Lewis told Pulos during an episode that aired on Nov. 20, 2018. “So I guess what I’m trying to say is I think it’s time to move on. I think it’s time for you to move on, and I am eternally grateful to you, cause I would not be here if it weren’t for you.”
Pulos said that she was “heartbroken” over the way things ended between her and Lewis.
Lewis says he’s ‘sorry’ for what happened between him and Pulos
Now, Lewis says that he regrets how everything with him and Pulos went down. He said that he texted her on Jan. 12 to apologize for how he behaved.
“What I wrote to her is, ‘Hi, Happy New Year. I hope you and your family are happy and healthy. Would you be open to meeting with me sometime?’” Lewis said. “‘I don’t feel good about what happened between us and I’m very sorry for my role in it.’”
Pulos hadn’t responded as of Monday, Lewis said. And he wasn’t optimistic about hearing from her.
“I don’t expect anything in return from her,” he said. “I plan on clearing my conscience and telling her everything that I’m sorry for, but I’m not going to do it and be like, ‘Well what are you sorry for?’ That should happen in her own time. Or not!”
Lewis added that he and Pulos have a “long history together” and that he wants to clear the air so that there is no awkwardness when they eventually run into each other again.
Pulos did not respond to People’s request for a comment.
Will there be another season of ‘Flipping Out’?
The final fight between Pulos and Lewis aired during the season 11 finale of Flipping Out. If the pair do end up reconciling, it seems unlikely that audiences would see that play out on screen. Bravo has yet to renew the show for a 12th season, though it has not been officially canceled.
In February 2019, Lewis said that Bravo producer Andy Cohen has pitched him on the idea of a new show. But so far, there’s been no official announcement about a new series.
