It’s not uncommon to hear about famous artists and celebrities going over the top when spending their millions on frivolous things. Diamonds, expensive homes, and exotic cars are often viewed as status symbols of wealth and success for the high-profile elite. But when a popular rapper takes extravagance to the next level, by dipping an exotic car in gold, everyone takes notice. Flo Rida did just that and made his already expensive ride worth more than $2 million.

Flo Rida has plenty of cash

His real name is Tramar Lacel Dillard, but fans and the music industry know him as Flo Rida. The Florida native has achieved success as a rapper, singer, and songwriter. He came on stage with his chart-topping single, “Low,” and has since dominated with his catchy tunes and relatable lyrics. His resume is full of rapping acclaim, with his four game-changing albums Mail on SundayR.O.O.T.S.Only One Flo, and Wild Ones. Some of his most iconic hits include, “Right Round,” “Good Feeling,” “Whistle,” “I Cry,” and “My House.” It’s this monumental success over the years that has led him to be worth more than $30 million as an artist.

His upcoming album and business venture

The “Club Can’t Handle Me” rapper isn’t done and certainly doesn’t appear to be letting his foot off the gas anytime soon when it comes to his career and business ventures. His fifth album, at least according to his recent Instagram posts, appears to be in the works and almost done. But over the last few years, he’s also collaborated on other projects and soundtracks. He’s stayed productive with various creative endeavors. For example, he showed up on Pitbull’s single, “Greenlight” in 2016, and his track, “Cake” with 99 Percent, went viral as part of the 2017 #CakeChallenge dance. In 2018, Flo Rida released “Dancer,” and shortly after that, “Sweet Sensation.” But in recent news, Flo Rida is diversifying his portfolio and announced his partnership with a businessman in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to create Victor George Vodka, reports The Real Deal. The plans include developing a distillery in the Sistrunk neighborhood. It sounds like Flo Rida is now getting into the alcohol business.

The Bugatti Veyron dipped in gold

Flo Rida has a few exotic cars in his garage, but the Bugatti Veyron may be the most notable. Initially, this $1.7 million ride featured tons of chrome and a pearl white paint job. According to Hot Cars, the rapper grew bored with the look of his sports car and called up the pros at Metro Wrapz for some customization. He instructed the experts to wrap his entire car in gold, down to the 24 karat rims, from Forgiato, reports Daily Mail. Upon completion, and with the added value in gold wrapping, the Bugatti was worth a whopping $2.7 million. The gold Bugatti caught everyone’s attention, especially on social media and within the auto industry. Some offered sentiments of awe and amazement at the now golden supercar. Others, however, called the move frivolous, unnecessary, and tacky. And one comment said the move was a waste, likening it to trying to put a mustache on the Mona Lisa. As for Flo Rida, he was thoroughly impressed with the finished product and rightfully named his beloved set of wheels, the “Golden Gatti.”

And Flo Rida, regardless of his true motives for soliciting the wrap job, is making a status statement with this now multi-million dollar sports car. Of course, when you’re as successful as he is, you can afford to dip whatever you want in gold.
