Food Network Chose Its ‘5 Favorite Ina Garten Dessert Recipes’ — And Each One Is Epic
Easily one of Food Network’s most beloved personalities, Ina Garten has earned her fan-favorite status. Her warm, approachable style on the Barefoot Contessa program coupled with her simple, yet extraordinary, recipes have made her a culinary goddess.
Here are five dessert recipes that Food Network has selected as its all-time favorites from the one and only Ina Garten.
Ina Garten recently signed a new deal with Food Network
The culinary star in Oct. 2021 announced she’s continuing her working relationship with the cable channel, to the relief of her millions of fans. According to Variety, not only will she be fronting a new cooking series called Be My Guest, she’ll also be hosting a Food Network podcast.
Garten’s statement at that time said, “I’m so looking forward to filming new shows. With ‘Be My Guest,’ I’m welcoming really fun, interesting people into my barn in East Hampton for good food and conversation. The range of platforms — from streaming and network TV, to audio — offers new and creative ways to connect with new viewers. This is going to be so much fun!”
And now, here are five of Garten’s very best desserts, as chosen by Food Network.
5. Chocolate Ganache Cake
A must-make for any chocolate lover, Garten’s Chocolate Ganache Cake is a rich treat. Just look at the ingredients list: butter, sugar, extra-large eggs, Hershey’s chocolate syrup, vanilla extract, and flour, and that’s just for the cake. The ganache itself calls for heavy cream, semisweet chocolate chips, and for an extra kick, instant coffee granules.
Reviewers on Food Network’s page for the recipe praised the dessert as an “awesome recipe for chocolate lovers like myself,” and “very moist and flavorful.”
4. Cinnamon Baked Doughnuts
The good news about these doughnuts, Garten says in the Food Network video for this recipe, is that “they’re baked, not fried. They’re so good.”
Food Network calls these baked treats one of her best for a reason: they’re absolutely delicious, with a cinnamon toast flavor that makes for a comforting dessert.
Reviewers’ thumbs were also up for this recipe, with one writing on the network’s site: “These are absolutely OUTSTANDING!! I made them for a brunch party and they were a huge hit! Ina- your recipes are always so delicious!!! These are a must try!!”
3. Chocolate Banana Cream Pie
Just the words “chocolate banana cream pie” are enough said. This classic dessert from Garten features a not-too-sweet graham cracker crust, chocolate pudding, bananas, and whipped cream. As the beloved cook says in the Food Network video for the recipe, “I mean, duh, who wouldn’t love that?”
One home cook said of the recipe on Food Network’s site, “Thank you Ina, this was a crowd pleaser!!”
2. Tres Leches Cake with Berries
This satisfying dessert features light cake soaked in heavy cream, evaporated milk, and sweetened condensed milk (thus the “tres/three” in the recipe’s name). The Barefoot Contessa star’s Tres Leches Cake is, as she states on the Food Network video for the dish, “unassuming but so delicious.”
Reviewers on the culinary channel’s site agreed. One home cook wrote, ” So simple to make. Super duper moist and tasty. Definitely one of my favorites. Thanks to Ina my family thinks I can bake.”
1. Beatty’s Chocolate Cake
With well over 2500 five-star reviews on Food Network’s site, Beatty’s Chocolate Cake recipe from Garten is a clear favorite. Which is why Food Network stated on its YouTube video page for this masterpiece dessert, “This is our #1 Chocolate Cake for a reason — just saying!”
Reviewers echoed the network’s choice of the cake as one of Garten’s best desserts, citing its moistness, incredibly rich chocolatey flavor, and lightness.
As one fan aptly put it, “this cake is perfection.”
