Forget As Ever—This Missed Opportunity Could Have Been Meghan Markle’s Biggest Payday
Meghan Markle is currently preparing the debut of her lifestyle brand, As Ever, alongside her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. However, as she awaits the success of both ventures, she may have missed a sure opportunity that could have led to a significant financial windfall.
Meghan Markle would have had a sure thing with ‘Suits LA’ spinoff
Meghan Markle starred in the original Suits series from 2011 to 2018. During the filming of the legal drama, her relationship with Prince Harry became more serious. As her contract came to an end, she chose to leave the show to focus on her relationship and new role within the royal family.
When news of a Suits spinoff, Suits LA broke, royal watchers assumed since Meghan was no longer a working royal, she would return to the series. But that wasn’t the case.
Instead, Meghan focused on getting her lifestyle brand up and running. First called American Riviera Orchard, it was rebranded to As Ever in February 2025.
The brand’s success hinges on the popularity of Meghan’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan. They will reportedly both debut in early March.
But, instead of waiting on the success of As Ever, Meghan could have scored a sure payday for returning to Suits. However, she reportedly has no plans to return to the spinoff.
Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean that at some point, Meghan won’t drop by the spinoff series. As yet, none of the original cast members, including Meghan, Gabriel Macht, Abigail Spencer, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman, or Patrick J. Abrams have signed on for guest spots.
‘Suits LA’ creator talks Meghan Markle return

Suits LA creator Aaron Korsh told People Magazine that a Meghan Markle return isn’t completely off the table. He has an open door policy for her and other original Suits cast members to visit whenever they’d like.
“So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor,” Korsh explained. “I think for me that’s a little … My brain blows up at the thought of that.
“So I think it blows up the world too much,” he continues. “Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.”
Ultimately, Korsh says Meghan can return at any time. “Of course. Of course. Always. But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that. Yeah.”
What role did Meghan Markle play on the original ‘Suits’ series?
Meghan Markle portrayed Rachel Zane on Suits during its original run on the USA Network. The character was a talented paralegal at Pearson Hardman with aspirations of becoming a lawyer.
Rachel was known for her sharp intellect, unwavering determination, and compelling on-screen chemistry with Patrick J. Adams’ character, Mike Ross. Over the course of seven seasons, Rachel evolved from a driven legal assistant to a full-fledged attorney, navigating professional challenges and a high-profile romance with Mike.
Her character’s wedding to Mike in season 7 marked her departure from the show, coinciding with her engagement to Prince Harry in real life. Following her royal marriage, Meghan stepped away from acting entirely, leaving Suits behind.
Suits currently streams on Netflix. Suits LA airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
