Former ‘NCIS’ Star Pauley Perrette Has Retired From Hollywood
Pauley Perrette recently starred in the short-lived CBS sitcom Broke as a single mom struggling with finances and some overbearing relatives. Though the actress has been in a handful of roles, NCIS fans will always remember her as Abby Sciuto — the former Chief Forensic Scientist for the NCIS Major Case Response Team.
Perrette played Sciuto for over a decade — taking on the geeky, gothic scientist with ease — and slipped into fans’ hearts. Yet, she left the show in 2018 following some behind-the-scenes drama with lead actor and Executive Producer Mark Harmon. And, according to the actress herself, with NCIS and Broke now pieces of her past, she is retiring from the biz!
Pauley Perrette talks retirement on Twitter
Perrette recently took to Twitter to remind fans that she only has one social media account: her verified Twitter one. Perrette also implied that future posts will likely be related to her non-cinematic endeavors, for she announced her retirement. Perrette stated:
I’M NOT ON FB or IG. THIS twitter account here @PauleyP is my ONLY ONE! I’m HAPPILY RETIRED! Finally! Woot! All I ever wanted! I raise #RescueDogs & plants…

Perrette will now focus her attention on raising rescue animals and plants. Considering she has managed to accumulate a net worth of approximately $22 million, she should be good for the next little while. Perrette also goes on to explain that she considered herself retired in the midst of her last acting role, as it was more of a final passion piece.
Pauley Perrette felt retired after ‘NCIS’ and during ‘Broke’
In a follow-up post to the one above, Perrette noted that, after NCIS, she retired. She shared:
Actually I retired after NCIS but BROKE was important, beautiful. I did my last dance & am proud of it! Everyone that knows me knew I was retiring right after. I’m proud of my work. I love you guys! I AM FREE!!! (To be the tiny little simple human I am!) #Plants #RescuePets #Books

Perrette looks forward to a new life — one out of the spotlight. She begins her retirement now, with tv and movies becoming a piece of her past. Yet, fans of the actress hope she returns to the screen once again, as she brought Abby Sciuto to life, inspiring young girls across the globe to enter S.T.E.M. fields.
If she ever returns to th screen, Perrette seems destined to select future roles designed to inspire and impact all the same. Given her still-strong relationship with former co-star Michael Weatherly, here’s to hoping Pauley Perrette steps in to guest star on the actor’s new hit show Bull.
