Former ‘RHOA’ Star Eva Marcille Details Falling in Love With Her Husband, Michael Sterling
Eva Marcille is not shy about professing her love for her husband, Michael Sterling. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and supermodel wed Sterling in a lavish ceremony in 2018. But their love story began two years prior to their wedding. For Marcille, she says it was an instant attraction for Sterling.
Eva Marcille says meeting Michael Sterling was love at first sight
For the America’s Next Top Model winner, meeting Sterling for the first time was like a fairytale. The LA native was in Atlanta to see comedian Kevin Hart’s comedy show. As fate would have it, Marcille was booked to attend a fundraiser for the Mayor of Atlanta and had to pass on seeing Hart.
“My husband now used to be the senior adviser to the Mayor and he was hosting it,” Marcille revealed during a recent taping of the podcast Undressing Room. “I just kept thinking, ‘Who is that yellow boy?!’ It was something about him. We looked back at a picture that night and he said I threw my leg out, I’ll show you the picture. I kinda did throw my leg out a little bit. I knew then that he was special.”

She says seeing Sterling blew her mind. “I had love at first sight with my husband,” she gushed.
Marcille and Sterling met not too long after Marcille’s breakup with record producer, Kevin McCall. McCall and Marcille’s relationship was tumultuous and riddled with domestic abuse, though McCall denies ever abusing Marcille.
The Sterlings now have three children together
Sterling and Marcille began dating in 2016. Marcille moved from LA to Atlanta full-time to be with Sterling and together, they began raising Marcille’s daughter Marley, whom she shares with McCall.
The couple became engaged in December 2017 and welcomed a son, Michael Jr., in 2018. Marcille officially became Mrs. Sterling in late 2018 in a $350,000 ceremony fit for a queen.
The Sterlings welcomed another son, Maverick, in September 2019. Michael proved his commitment to his wife and Marley by legally adopting Marley and changing Marley’s last name.

As for why changing Marley’s last name was necessary, ESSENCE reports that Eva said of the decision on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show:
Marley was born in 2014 and I gave her her biological father’s name. After two months, we became estranged and I raised her as a single mom. And then, the good Lord saw fit for me to meet an amazing man, Michael Sterling, who has become my husband and the father of my later children. Long story short, we all have the name Sterling, and Marley is the only one with her biological father’s name and I saw it necessary and Mike saw it necessary to change her name.

For Eva, Sterling has been a breath of fresh air. She admits to previously only dating “bad boys.” Eva says Sterling is the nicest man she’s ever been with. Sterling is equally in love with his wife.
