Former Royal Aide Slams Prince Harry For His US Life with Meghan Markle: ‘Get a Job’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s life in the United States has seemingly brought them much reprieve compared to how they were living while under the royal family’s watch. Harry and Meghan now live in Montecito, California, with their two children, but a few people have questioned how the couple makes money when their business ventures have had varying degrees of success.
Now, one former royal aide is slamming the prince for speaking so much about the royals, saying he should “keep his mouth shut.”
Former royal aide has words for Prince Harry
Say what you want about Harry and Meghan, but the two ultimately decided to ditch royal life in order to make themselves happier, and it appears to have worked. But not everyone has been satisfied with Harry and Meghan’s pomp and circumstance surrounding their departure; many have also accused the Sussexes of not living the private life they claimed to leave for.
Patrick Jepsen, who previously worked for Princess Diana, actually knew Harry when he was just a boy. But Jepsen isn’t happy with the way Harry handled his royal departure or how the prince is living life in the US.
“There is a basic inconsistency with what he [Harry] says he wants and what he’s doing,” Jepsen said in an interview with Grazia, according to Express. “He says he wants a private life, but if you want that freedom, you get a job, drop out of public life, keep your mouth shut and certainly don’t criticize the constitution of your adopted country.”
It’s unclear what Harry and Meghan do for money, but that ultimately is not anyone’s business but their own. While Jepsen might feel frustration over what Harry did to the family, it is only up to the Sussexes how they handle their post-royal life.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s view on post-royal life has shifted
When Harry and Meghan initially announced that they wanted to step back from their roles rather than step down from them, it was in order to remove themselves from the daily attacks by the media. However, it quickly became clear that this wasn’t possible; the queen reportedly didn’t want them in the royal family only part time, plus it was evident the attacks from the press would not stop even with a part-time royal role. Ultimately, the two decided to leave altogether.
That has certainly ruffled some feathers, but it probably wouldn’t be easy for Harry to simply walk into a corporate office and seek a job. Plus, it does appear that he and Meghan have stopped openly criticizing the royal family, so they’re living more private lives now than they were even one year ago.
