Former ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Kailyn Lowry Teases New TV Project
Kailyn Lowry left Teen Mom stardom behind in 2022, but it doesn’t sound like she is done with the TV world forever. While Lowry has spent the last two years having kids and hosting podcasts, she seems open to changing things up a little bit. According to a recent Instagram comment, a return to the small-screen is in the works. There is very little additional information, though.
Kailyn Lowry tells fans they will be seeing her family “somewhere else”
Earlier this month, Kailyn Lowry took to Instagram to share photos of her large family. One fan was quick to tell Lowry that they missed seeing her and her kids on Teen Mom. While Lowry doesn’t make a habit of replying to many fans, she felt compelled to reply to the comment. TeenMomFanz, an Instagram account dedicated to the MTV franchise, was quick to screenshot the comment.
In a reply to a fan, Lowry said the family would be returning “somewhere else,” leading fans and followers to speculate about her upcoming TV projects. Lowry seemed to want fans to know she will be back on TV after a two-year hiatus, but not on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. So, where can she go from here? Some viewers think the mother of seven is planning a move to a new network, like her former co-star, Chelsea Houska. Other followers wonder if Lowry is working on a solo spinoff series with MTV. For now, she’s not sharing additional information.
Kailyn Lowry has teased a return to TV before
Lowry’s recent Instagram comment seems promising to fans who miss seeing her and her ever-expanding family on MTV. Still, this isn’t the first time Lowry has teased a future TV project, only to remain tightlipped about it months later.
In April, the former Teen Mom 2 star broke the news that she planned to build a new house for her family. Lowry and her kids moved into their current, custom-built abode just a few years ago, but things have changed and the family has since outgrown the home. She didn’t just reveal that she was building a new house, though. She teased fans that a potential project connected to the build could be in development. Lowry has yet to fill fans in further on that project, but the new build is still happening. Perhaps her recent comment means we are getting closer to more information.
Why did she leave the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise?
Kailyn Lowry first appeared on 16 and Pregnant while expecting her first son, Isaac Rivera. That pregnancy turned into reality TV stardom on Teen Mom 2. Lowry appeared on the series from its inception in 2011 until 2022, when she announced during a reunion special that she thought she was done with the franchise and was ready to part ways.
In May 2022, she chatted with E! News and explained that she walked away from the show because the franchise aligned with her family’s goals. She went on to explain that she wanted to do her own thing. Lowry very much has done her own thing. She hosts several successful podcasts and seems happy in her new role. Still, she seems open to a return to TV.
