Former WWE Host Renee Paquette Open to Joining AEW

It's been a year since former WWE host Renee Paquette left the company. Since then the star's been busy with her podcast and mom duties. However, Paquette hasn't ruled out a return to the world of wrestling. As for whether she'd join husband Jon Moxley in AEW, Paquette said it's a possibility.

When it comes to sports personalities, Renee Paquette is one of the most recognized. Paquette rose to fame during her eight-year run with WWE. She became a weekly fixture on WWE’s TV shows with her backstage interviews and commentary. In August 2020, she decided to leave the company to branch out on other projects. However, she hasn’t ruled out a possible return to wrestling.

Renee Paquette discusses possibility of joining AEW

Following Paquette’s departure from WWE, she was given a year-long non-compete clause, which prohibited her from appearing on another wrestling promotion. But with her clause now up, Paquette is free to appear on other wrestling programs. As with many ex-WWE stars, many fans wonder if Paquette would join AEW.

There’s a lot of benefits to Paquette joining AEW. She’d be working with her husband, wrestler Jon Moxley. Also, fans feel Paquette would be great at the commentary desk or hosting AEW specials. According to Still Real To Us, Paquette admits working for AEW is tempting. “Looking at AEW, I think there are endless opportunities of other things I could be doing over there if that was to be something that came up down the line,” she explained.

Paquette joined WWE in October 2012 as their new backstage interviewer. Now going by Renee Young, Paquette became popular with wrestling fans for her energetic personality during chats with wrestlers. Paquette became a staple on RAW and Smackdown, and before long, was moved up to hosting duties with the short-lived WWE programs Unfiltered and Talking Smack.

In August 2018, Paquette was promoted as a commenter for Monday Night RAW. A year later, Paquette would trade commentary for hosting duties when she signed on for WWE Backstage on the FS1 Network. However, the show was cancelled in June 2020, and shortly afterward, Paquette decided to leave WWE.

Since she departed WWE, a lot has changed in Paquette’s life. The biggest change is she’s now a mom. In June of this year, Paquette and Moxley welcomed a baby girl named Nora.

Aside from motherhood, Paquette has also stayed busy with several projects. In November 2020, she launched her Oral Sessions podcast, featuring interviews with wrestlers and other sports figures. In May, Paquette celebrated the release of her cookbook Messy In The Kitchen.

Although Paquette already has her hands full, the star is ready to be back on TV. According to SEScoops, Paquette teased a return to television. Will she appear on AEW? Or does Paquette have another secret project in the works? Fans will have to wait and see what’s next for this beloved wrestling personality.
