Cole Sprouse has admitted to having a crush on Jennifer Aniston

Cole Sprouse appeared on Friends in seasons 6 to 8 as Ben Geller, the son of Ross Geller (David Schwimmer). As Sprouse shared in an interview with the New York Post in 2017, he was “maybe 7 or 8” at the time, and he was quite smitten with his older co-star Aniston.

“I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her,” he said. “I was infatuated. I was speechless — I’d get all bubbly and forget my lines and completely blank … It was so difficult. [laughs]”

Cole Sprouse explains how he was teased by people on set for his crush

Sprouse’s crush was apparently so obvious to other people on set that he was teased for it.

On a recent visit to The Drew Barrymore Show, Sprouse shared, “I feel like I’d maintain my composure a bit more effectively now, but it was quite difficult when I was a kid… I was teased a little bit by the crew, because they saw it. I would just forget, and be looking at her.”

According to Today, Sprouse once “turned bright red” because a cameraperson called him out on having a crush when he was sitting next to Aniston.

Sprouse was clearly way too young to date Aniston, but she has been known to date some of her other co-stars.

For example, Aniston met actor Paul Rudd on the set of the 1998 film “The Object of My Affection,” and the two of them reportedly began dating. After Aniston and Rudd broke up, he appeared on Friends in 2002, though things didn’t seem awkward between them. In fact, Aniston and Rudd would go on to work together again in the 2012 film “Wanderlust.”

Aniston also had another ex who appeared on Friends—Tate Donovan. Donovan appeared on Friends for several episodes in the late 1990s. He played Rachel’s love interest, though he and Aniston had already ended their relationship at the time. Donovan would later recall in an interview with HuffPost Live that it was a “horrible” experience.

One of Aniston’s most famous relationships was with Brad Pitt, and he became her co-star on Friends as well. Unlike Rudd and Donovan, however, Pitt was married to Aniston when he appeared on Friends in 2001. Pitt played an old friend of Ross’ who apparently ran an “I Hate Rachel” club in high school. Aniston and Pitt would go on to famously divorce in 2005.
