‘Glee’

One of Murphy’s most iconic shows, Glee, aired on Fox for six seasons from 2009 to 2015. The series follows a group of high school teens who find their unique inner voices by joining the school’s glee club. Filled with terrific music and amazing cast performances, the show is both funny and heartwarming. 

The main cast includes Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Alex Newell, along with Lea Michele and Melissa Benoist. Throughout its six seasons, the series featured plenty of notable guest stars, including Gweneth Paltrow, Idina Menzel, and John Stamos. 

‘American Horror Story’

American Horror Story is a horror anthology series created by Murphy and his co-creator Brad Falchuk. Through nine self-contained seasons, the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning FX show tells thrilling stories of killer ghosts, fierce witches, and other devilish supernatural beings. 

The cast changes each season. But some notable recurring actors include Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Denis O’Hare, Emma Roberts, Jamie Brewer, and Angela Bassett.

‘Pose’

Starring Billy Porter and Kate Mara, Pose is centered around New York City’s LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming ballroom scene in the late ‘80s. The series earned numerous accolades in its first season, with an Outstanding Lead Actor win for Porter. There are currently two seasons of Pose on Netflix. 

‘The People v. O.J. Simpson’

The first installment of Murphy’s American Crime Story series, The People v. O.J. Simpson explores the famous murder trial of football player and actor, O.J. Simpson. The series stars Cuba Gooding Jr., David Schwimmer, John Travolta, Sterling K. Brown, Kenneth Choi, Sarah Paulson, Nathan Lane, Courtney B. Vance, and Christian Clemenson. 

As a limited series, the show won nine Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes, which include two Best Actress awards for Paulson.

‘The Assassination of Gianni Versace’

The second season of American Crime Story, The Assassination of Gianni Versace explores the life of designer Gianni Versace and the events that led to his 1997 murder. At the 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards, the series received the most nominations and earned three wins. 

The show stars Édgar Ramírez, Ricky Martin, Penélope Cruz, and Darren Criss, who won an Oustanding Lead Actor Emmy for his performance.
