‘Full House’: From Mr. Bear to ‘Pillow Person,’ Here Are Some Iconic Toys Loved by the Tanner Sisters
The Tanner house is pretty full of love and family members, but there’s always room for more stuffed animals. Some toys were the subjects of many arguments between Michelle, Stephanie, and DJ.
Here’s what we know about some of the favorite toys of these characters from the sitcom Full House.
Michelle Tanner had a stuffed animal for most episodes of ‘Full House’
As the youngest Tanner sister, Michelle Tanner was lucky enough to have two closets to raid. She still had plenty of stuff that was her own, though. That includes her favorite stuffed animal pig.
During the “Fuller House” episode, Uncle Jesse announced to his nieces that he was moving out. With such a close relationship with Michelle, hers was the hardest goodbye. This character gifted Jesse her stuffed pig.
Of course, Uncle Jesse didn’t officially move out, and Michelle returned to being the proud owner of a stuffed pig. That is, until the season 6 episode “The Long Goodbye,” when she gave her pig to her best friend Teddy after learning of his move to Amarillo, Texas.
DJ’s favorite toy was a ‘Pillow Person’
DJ was the oldest of the Tanner sisters, but she kept some stuffed toys around, including her iconic “Pillow Person” plush. During the “Three Men and Another Baby” episode, the older Tanner sisters wanted Michelle to grow up a little.
They eventually came up with a deal: if Michelle started acting like a “big girl,” she’d be rewarded with a “big girl toy” like D.J.’s “Pillow Person” or Stephanie’s Mr. Bear. Thankfully, DJ got to keep her beloved plush.
According to Fuller House Fandom, another version of this plush appeared in Netflix’s spinoff series, Fuller House. The website writes, “D.J. Tanner-Fuller lost her pillow person at summer camp years ago, Steve Hale found another one on e-bay and gave it to her for her 39th birthday.”
Stephanie’s Mr. Bear was the star of several ‘Full House’ episodes
Stephanie Tanner was very attached to her detective sidekick Mr. Bear, a stuffed animal gifted to her by her mother after Michelle was born. Together, these friends solved mysteries and spent time together in the Tanner home.
During the “Goodbye Mr. Bear” episode, though, Stephanie believed that Joey accidentally donated her favorite toy. As an apology, Joey bought Stephanie another bear, hoping that Stephanie would accept the substitute.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to because Michelle just hit the stuffed animal from her sister. Other toys made an appearance in this series, from the Mighty Mutant Super Kids and their expensive accessories to Michelle’s plush name that hung over her bed.
As the characters grew up, though, they outgrew their beloved toys. Some favorites still made it to the attic, where the Fuller House characters found them in storage. Episodes of Full House, including “The Long Goodbye,” are available for streaming on Hulu.
