Steve and CJ (almost) had their wedding during the ‘My Best Friend’s Japanese Wedding’ episode

Caught up with the Tanner family thanks to the Netflix series, Fuller House. In these new episodes, DJ Tanner was the matriarch of her childhood home, now with three children of her own.

She lived there with her sister and best friend, although several other Full House characters made appearances in this home and throughout the spinoff. That includes Uncle Jesse, Danny Tanner, Joey, and even DJ’s high school sweetheart, Steve.

Unfortunately, Steve was in a relationship with a woman named CJ and DJ was on-again-off-again with her coworker, Matt. Steve and CJ even planned to be married in Japan. As a result, the entire cast traveled to the new country for the episode titled “My Best Friend’s Japanese Wedding.”

Did the ‘Fuller House’ cast actually go to Japan?

Season 3 brought plenty of surprises for Fuller House fans, including the destination wedding of Steve and CJ. That wedding took place in Japan and yes, the cast actually traveled abroad to create this special episode of the Netflix original series.

During 2017, Bure posted a picture of the cast abroad, captioning it, “Tune in today to [Entertainment Tonight] for a behind-the-scenes look at [Fuller House] Season 3 filming in Japan!”

The characters stopped at well-known landmarks including the Sanrio Puroland theme park (AKA Hello Kitty Land) and the famous Shibuya Crossing. The main event of the episode, though, was Steve and CJ’s wedding, which ended abruptly when Steve and DJ revealed their love for each other.

Following this almost wedding, Steve and DJ resumed their high school romance with the series Fuller House. They eventually got married alongside DJ’s sister Stephanie and her best friend, Kimmy Gibbler
