‘General Hospital’ Actor Sofia Mattsson Had Her Baby
General Hospital‘s Sofia Mattsson took to Instagram on Aug. 25 to share that her baby boy was born last month. Here’s what she had to say, and how her co-stars and fans of the show reacted.
Sofia Mattsson is best known for her role as Sasha Gilmore on ‘General Hospital’
Currently, Mattsson plays Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital. She started portraying Sasha in 2018 and took a brief hiatus in Dec. of that year, but returned Feb. 5, 2019, according to General Hospital Wiki.
Sasha hails from Chappaqua, NY, where she was raised by a single mother. After her mother died, the only family Sasha had left was her grandmother. When her grandmother fell ill, Sasha didn’t have the money to pay for her medical bills. So she posed as Nina’s long-lost daughter, per Valentin Cassadine’s offer, to pay for her grandmother’s surgery.
Sofia Mattsson welcomes her baby boy
On Aug. 25, Mattsson shared a photo on her Instagram of her holding her new baby boy. She’s wearing a pink workout jacket and holding her little boy in a light blue onesie. Mattsson is glowing. The actor revealed in her post that her son was actually born last month.
“Happiest 4 weeks ever with this little guy!” she wrote. “He joined us on 7/26/21 and stole my heart completely!!”
Time will tell whether Mattsson having her baby will affect her role on General Hospital or not.

The photo was flooded with well-wishes for Mattsson and her son. Several of her co-stars commented on the picture.
Co-star Briana Nicole Henry wrote: “You beautiful, strong, glowing mama!!! Congrats. What a lucky little guy he is, so proud of you.”
“Eeeeee!!! Congrats! So happy for you! 💫😍🥰💕” commented co-star Cassandra James.
Katelyn MacMullen commented: “Congrats!!! I love you so much beautiful mama!! I can’t wait to meet him!”
And Kelly Thiebaud wrote: “Beautiful Sofia! Welcome to the world little guy! 💗”
Fans also took to the post to wish the actor congratulations.
“Aww congrats! He is perfect,” wrote one fan.

And, of course, fans are curious to know the name Mattsson chose for her son, which she has yet to reveal.
“Congratulations, he is so handsome, what is his name?” asked one fan.
