While Pullos has portrayed Molly since 2009, Ainsworth has played Kristina from 2009 to 2011 and on and off since 2015 to now. Both are members of the Corinthos and Cassadine families. Molly is the daughter of Alexis Davis and Ric Lansing, while Kristina is the daughter of Alexis and Sonny Corinthos. They have an older half-sister, Sam McCall.

Outside of her role on General Hospital, Pullos recurred on the Nick-at-Nite series, Instant Mom. The actor has also appeared in television films like From Straight A’s to XXX and A Royal Christmas Ball. She has guest-starred on television shows like Scorpion and The Mick. She had a recurring role on Netflix’s The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia in 2020.

Ainsworth has had recurring roles on multiple shows, including Crackle’s Chosen and TNT’s Major Crimes. In 2013, she also booked an ABC drama pilot, Westside. The pilot was a Romeo & Juliet-esque planned series that did not get picked up by the network to series. On the film front, Ainsworth also recently starred in the indie film A Girl Like Her with another soap star, General Hospital’s Hunter King.

Are Lexi Ainsworth and Haley Pullos close?

In 2017, Ainsworth and Pullos did a joint interview with Soap Opera Digest in which they talked about their dynamic both on-screen and off-screen and took readers inside their relationship, which is very close.

Pullos said that it was hard for her when Ainsworth departed the show back in 2011. ‘Lexi totally became my older sister, just from pretending to be my older sister, so when she wasn’t going to be on the show anymore, I was so sad,” she said. “I was heartbroken. I didn’t want my sister to leave!”

Ainsworth echoed Pullos’ sentiments, adding, “It was really hard to say goodbye to her. Whenever you finish a project, you always say you’re going to keep in touch, but it’s really hard and I knew that I probably wasn’t going to see any of these people again for a long time, if ever. You spend five days a week, sometimes 12-hour days, with these people, and you have these emotional storylines, so you really connect with people. It was hard saying good-bye to that.”

Though Ainsworth and Pullos were not on the show together for this period of time, they began to run into each other at auditions for other projects. ‘As I started getting older, Lexi and I started going out for some of the same roles because we kind of went into the same category,” said Pullos. “I would see her at auditions and be like, “Oh, my gosh, are you auditioning for the same role as me?”

How Haley Pullos felt when Lexi Ainsworth came back

Pullos explained how the rumors of Ainsworth coming back to General Hospital started and people were tweeting about it. The actor was excited for this reunion. “We needed our whole Davis girl family back together,” she added. “We were not complete without Kristina.”

Ainsworth had the same feelings. “It was so exciting,” she continued. “I was a little nervous coming back, though, because I had been gone for four years. But walking down the hall, it was like nothing had changed. It was a nice feeling.”

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
