Josh Kelly joins the ‘General Hospital’ cast in a mystery role

The ladies of Port Charles will have a new man to swoon over with Kelly joining the General Hospital cast. Kelly is no stranger to daytime TV; he previously played Cutter Wentworth on One Life to Live from 2010 to 2013. His other credits include the Lifetime series UnREAL and the big-screen flick Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Speculation starts on Kelly’s character, with many fans believing he could be a Jason Morgan or Lucky Spencer recast. His role is a mystery; however, according to Deadline.com, the character will be involved with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

Evan Hofer debuts as Sonny Corinthos’ new right-hand man

Kelly isn’t the only newcomer to the General Hospital cast. On May 5th, Evan Hofer debuted as Dex. After being hired to manage the gym, Dex becomes the new right-hand man for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). While the job is temporary, Dex has already impressed Sonny with how he broke up a fight.

Hofer’s previous acting credits include the Disney series Kickin’ It and Dwight in Shining Armor. While his role is a stark contrast to his other work, the actor is excited about being part of the soap opera. While fans are skeptical over Dex’s motive for working with Sonny, Hofer receives praise from his co-star. “This guy is on the money,” Benard tweeted, responding to Hofer’s debut.

Inga Cadranel exits after her character Harmony Miller dies

While General Hospital adds two additions to their cast, they’re also saying goodbye to one actor. Inga Cadranel has wrapped up her tenure as Harmony Miller. Cadranel played Harmony on and off since April 2019, with her last appearance happening on May 6, 2022.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Cadranel reflected on her run with the show. “I had no expectations beyond a few episodes and having a good time trying a new medium of work. I thought for sure my character was over when Shiloh died.”

While Cadranel knew her time was ending, she was shocked by Harmony’s demise. “I thought it may be the type of storyline that would have Harmony disappear or leave so that door could always be open down the road. I was definitely surprised when he told me he and the writers decided that Harmony was going to die.”

Harmony was in a massive storyline before her death. As fans know, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) daughter, not Harmony’s. With her secret in danger of being exposed, Harmony resorts to drastic measures, including trying to kill Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).

However, Harmony tries to flee but is hit by Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) car. Harmony was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. Before taking her final breath, she confessed to Carly that Nina was Willow’s mother. With Harmony gone, Carly has a tough dilemma on what to do with the secret.
