General Hospital often airs serious scenes with characters experiencing intense emotions. As such, it’s easy to forget that the actors themselves can still have fun when the cameras are not rolling.

Eden McCoy, who currently plays Josslyn Jacks on the show, recently shared a hilarious story from the set. This was considered an “embarrassing” moment for McCoy, though it seems to be one she can now laugh at.

Eden McCoy has been on ‘General Hospital’ since 2015

McCoy joined the cast of General Hospital in 2015 when she was 12 years old. Her character, Josslyn, is the daughter of Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher).

Since her debut, McCoy has become a very prominent face on the show. She is one of the four teenagers on General Hospital whose story lines about school, romance, and parents increasingly dominate airtime.

In 2019, McCoy found herself in a challenging story line when Josslyn’s then-boyfriend, Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt), was diagnosed with a brain tumor and eventually passed away. McCoy’s acting in these scenes landed her a nomination at the Daytime Emmy Awards.

The cast of General Hospital always seems to have interesting stories to share about the set. On the podcast Dishing With Digest, McCoy recently shared an “embarrassing” moment she had while filming.

“The other day we were filming something emotional. It was quiet for a second and my stomach just… spoke,” McCoy recalled. “Vernee [Watson-Johnson, who plays Stella Henry] was next to me and Chad [Duell, who plays Michael Corinthos] was across from me–a bunch of people were in the scene.”

She continued, “I remember it happening and I was just looking at Vernee and she looked at me and Chad was trying to make me laugh. And then we had to do it again because everyone started laughing. It was so embarrassing.”

McCoy also revealed that, in her five years on General Hospital, she has witnessed lots of people falling over or tripping while filming.

Aside from her acting job on daytime TV, McCoy is also a student as well as a nationally-ranked volleyball player. She has surely accomplished quite a lot for someone her age, but there are still many things McCoy can learn about showbiz.

When she struggles along the way, her on-screen mom, Laura Wright, seems to be there to help. Earlier this year, McCoy discussed an important advice Wright gave her.

“She says, ‘Take care of yourself.’ Check in with yourself, make sure your mental health comes first,” McCoy shared with Soap.com. “Then you can give your work 100 percent of your attention.”

This is especially important when acting in scenes that are emotionally taxing. McCoy added, “Mentally, you know the story isn’t real – but you feel everything when you’re that invested in it. So it’s important that you take care of yourself.”
