‘General Hospital’: Kelly Thiebaud Says Fans Can Help Bring Britt Westbourne Back
General Hospital fans are huge fans of Britt Westbourne and have welcomed her back on the soap opera with open arms. This is why viewers are confused at her quick and recent departure off the screen. Actress Kelly Thiebaud has also opened up about how they can help the character get back on the show.
Kelly Thiebaud recently came back to ‘General Hospital’ for a stint
Thiebaud has originated the role in 2012 and remained as a series regular until 2015. From 2017-2018 she appeared for another stint. Her latest run was earlier this year. Westbourne is the daughter of Dr. Liesl Obrecht and the villainous Cesar Faison.
In her most recent return to the show, Westbourne got medical license back and was temporarily re-hired at the hospital as a replacement for Kim Nero. She also had a fling with Julian Jerome while in town.
Westbourne suddenly stopped appearing on the show recently and on April 14 it was revealed that she left her job at General Hospital to get a new job at a hospital in Boston. All of this was jarring to fans, who didn’t expect Westbourne to depart so soon and at least hoped she would leave on screen and not by mention.
One fan tweeted, “britts gone again. not even a send off? wtf? this is what’s wrong with #GH. so much s**t happens offscreen.”
“What, they put Britt out that quickly? With no fanfare at all? After everything that was developing with Julian?” asked another viewer on Twitter.
Someone else tweeted, “So she really has left the show again?! I don’t understand why #GH dangles these returns for a few episodes and takes them away. Hayden, Taggert, and now Britt.”
Britt’s gone, but Kelly Thiebaud says this is how she can return
On Twitter, the actress wrote, “Hiiii! Just wanted to clarify some things! Unfortunately yes i dont hve anymore scenes on #GH at the moment, BUT that could all change once productions starts bck up. I guess if y’all want more of #TheBritch u will hve to harass Frank and the #GH writers, it’s up to them.”
Finola Hughes, who portrays Anna Devane on the soap, co-signed the idea. “This gets my vote! A road trip caper with Anna and Finn!” Thiebaud responded with, “that would be its own spinoff!”
Thiebaud continued to clarify her status in another tweet. The actress will soon appear on Days of our Lives in a guest-starring role.
“Currently i am not on any shows as a series reg. I’m just bouncing around where the work takes me. Thank you for welcoming me again back to Port Charles. Always a fun visit and let’s hope there is more to come. Love you all! Stay safe,” she said.
General Hospital airs airs weekdays on ABC.
